The stairs are no joke. To get to the reception as well as the top floor, you need to go up a stairway that is steep and a bit perilous. Not much of a problem for me, but not recommended for anyone with mobility impairments.

Cozy and clean Moderate noise from metro/train
-
A wee bit tight

Very friendly and present hosts, so rare in this contactless era. The house is decorated with much attention to detail and the house rules ensure that everyone has a comfortable stay. Good beds, spacious shared kitchen, within walking distance to attractions. This didn't end up being a noise issue during the night, but the house is across a train station. The flight of stairs to the rooms might be steeper than what most people are used to, but not an issue for able-bodied persons.

Really friendly staff to meet me. Excellent with the shared facilities, small balconies on top. Great to have airco as it was 37C. You have to be prepared to go up some steep stairs to the 1st and 2nd floor. No problem for people with normal mobility. You are very close to the center. There's a few alleys around that may be perceived desolate between downtown and the place. Not a problem for me. If you are in shape, rent a bike at Lime and Limao and cycle up the Serra da Arrabida, or take the bike on the small car ferry to Troia and cycle down the relatively quiet roads to Grandola or Melides, amazing Alentejo! <3 (ps since the place is upstairs, bikes are not really welcome indoors ..)

The cleanliness of the room and facilities was outstanding. The proprietors were attentive and readily available. The location near the train station was great to keep hauling luggage at a minimum, on top of being an easy walk to Setubal and the waterfront. Visiting the miradouro up the street was a great start every morning. It was an mid April/Easter weekend visit so the not of other visitors and the common areas were quiet, but they had suitable areas to hang out, watch a movie or make meal. Yea the steps up are daunting but easy enough, just hold the hand rails.

Very clean, spacious, and loved having the shared kitchen. Walls are very thin, so the nights that we had neighbors we could hear every single noise.
-
Unfortunately the apartment is directly next to the train station

Clean, walking distance from the city center - spacious room with clean bathroom, and there’s a cool common area where I worked from. Nothing - pretty good overall!
-
Beautiful big room. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed and great location. Easy walk to town centre and marina. Lovely staff.I would highly recommend it.
-
Nice Place, clean, great communication with the host, ideally located, free streetparking nearby. Be aware: steep & narrow stairway.
-
No response from PEPA before check-out, even though I texted them. When windows are open, occasional train activity may disturb some people. The stairs really are as steep and long as the pictures indicate .
-
Great! 2-floor walk up. I was okay with it, but some may struggle
-
The decoration and the staff The water pressure was very low and there was no hot water on the bathroom sink
-
Very much as described. Pedro was very kind and helpful. Thank you!

I recently stayed at Pepa Guest House in Setúbal and had a lovely experience. The guesthouse is small and charming, with very pleasant and welcoming owners Pedro and Patricia, who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The bedding, towels, and mattress were all of excellent quality, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-organized, and the overall design of the space gave a cozy, homey feel. Everything that was promised was delivered, and the attention to detail was noticeable throughout. Pedro was very welcoming and giving the advice on what to do and what to see in Setubal - was very useful. I wish the owners all the best and have no doubt they will continue to receive high ratings in the future. If you’re looking for a comfortable, well-maintained place to stay in Setúbal, I highly recommend Pepa Guest House. Google maps were struggling with directions so it took me 30 min. instead of 5 to get to the guest house from the bus station. The way back after Pedro explained me the easier path to take, was much faster.
