About Alcoba del Rey de Sevilla Boutique Hotel

This boutique hotel takes its inspiration from Seville's past. It has a rooftop terrace with a hot tub and some suites have a private spa bath. The rooms are grouped around a characteristic Andalusian patio. Each one is decorated in a blend of different styles. The unique decoration continues in the lounge and breakfast room. In fact, everything that you see in the hotel is for sale. Reception can offer tourist information. It can also arrange riding, cycling and belly dancing. Alcoba del Rey de Sevilla can be found near the church of Santa María de la Macarena. It is also opposite the Andalusian parliament. The Cathedral and the main bullring are both a 20-minute walk away. The Alameda area is just 3 minutes away. The train and coach stations are both 1.9 mi away. San Pablo Airport is 4.3 mi away.

I liked that the place had locks on the doors. This place looked more like a cheap motel. And my room was directly by the street. The price for this booking was crazy for what was actually offered. I got the worst room. The tub did not work. The pictures need to be separate for each room because not every room looks the same. Some look like actual dirt compared to others. I would never book here again or recommend someone else to stay here. It looks like it is for cheap dates, but it is not cheap at all. And the tub doesn’t even work. Couldn’t even keep the water in the tub or have the jacuzzi work.

Very atmospheric and attractive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Delightful shower, but make sure you are really close to your partner because there is only a wooden screen separating the loo in the room. There are two supermarkets just a few minutes away and everything is within walking distance. Our room was on the ground floor and the noise from people outside seemed too close for comfort, but thankfully the cooler weather kept them away.

The quirky boutiqueness, close to Macarena, wonderful cafe next door. I liked it all.

Had the displeasure of waking up at 8:30 am as the hotel decided it was the perfect time to start some construction outside my window. I don’t love waking up to a man on a ladder outside my room. Especially when they are hammering and drilling, and I didn’t fall asleep until 3am because I’m jet lagged. The front desk apologized and asked them to stop when I went down to complain. But their excuse was they didn’t know he was working outside my window, and I really don’t understand why you would have someone work (hammer and drill) outside any hotel window before 9 am. 2pm? Makes sense. 9am? I can’t be the only one trying to sleep in and get over jet lag. Location is a ~15 min walk to the center city.

Parking for 19eur/24h, relatively easy. Nice area (Feria) nearby. Whatever you do, don't book the room on the ground floor street side. Windows so poorly insulated that you won't sleep before the bar closes around midnight. Walls are literally paper thin, can hear whole conversations of the neighbours, and their nighttime activities. One towel for two people, bathroom old rather than "antique". Hairs left from previous guests. Breakfast is rather basic in a stuffy room, had to wait for a table to be freed up both days. Staff seem depressed and fed up. Reception smells of plumbing/sewage. Very basic mattress. For this kind of money, you'd expect more.

Exceptionally helpful staff, fabulous location for all site seeing, lovely rooftop garden/ patio for sunset drinks. Delightful "Boutique/ unique" hotel, would definitely stay again when in Seville & recommend highly to others. Nothing at all comes to mind, perfect stay, comfortable beds, a/c in rooms worked well as above, staff fantastic, location terrific.

The hotel has a good location - near the hop on hop off bus and a local restaurant area The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel offered to park and collect the car from the car park The hotel is very tired and needs updating. We had booked 2 rooms and were allocated: Abenzan and Finway (not quite sure of the spelling) - both on the ground floor. The Abenzan room was at the back of the property - it smelt musty especially if the air con was turned on. There is a small terrace so we could open the door to cool the room down. There is no shower except for over the bath. The room is dark. The curtains over the door do not cover the window so dont block out the light. Room Finway(sp?) is also on the ground floor, however it faces the road - the room is terrible - no light, curtains dont cover the window but most importantly the room is incredibly NOISY - our friends got no sleep at all - the staff did move them for the second night and the room was a big improvement. however, it should never have been allocated and ruined a whole day of our trip to Seville

A lovely place to stay. The rooms are superb, the decor with a Moroccan feel is charming, the staff are very welcoming and helpful, the buffet breakfast is mainly cold cheese/meat Spanish style, the small bar/restaurant (closed all day Mondays & Sunday evenings) is popular and frequented by locals. A place well worth staying. Located to the north of the old city it is within easy reach of many good tapas bars/restaurants (we can recommend Ojala Tapas y Vinos). The circular buses C3 & C4 stop nearby and travel clockwise & anti-clockwise around the outskirts of the city enabling speedy journeys to the key locations. We used the green open-topped bus for the first 48 hours which gave us our bearings. If you only have time for one highlight, the cathedral is one of the world’s gems. Further afield is Italica which is the birthplace of Emperor Hadrian. The hourly bus 170 to Santiponce from the main bus station (on the C3 & C4 routes) takes 15-20 minutes. Explore and enjoy. Nothing we can think of.

The location was great as well as the authentic style of the boutique hotel. The 2 ladies Ester and Diana gave special attention to our requests. The breakfast should cater for a little more variety for those not eating pork.
