It was absolutely beautiful, clean and a pleasure to walk into. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were lovely. It was perfect for us as it was close to the cruise ship port.

The rooms were beautiful and huge. Beds were comfortable. I am still waiting to receive the 320 euro deposit they asked for. Please do make sure they pay this back to me asap.

Lovely hotel with lots of character. Rooms were large and well appointed. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices. Well located to a shopping mall nearby and short trip to the international cruise terminal. Air conditioning in the room kept adjusting itself to 26 degrees c so too hot. Also, previous occupant had been smoking in the room and the smell of stale tobacco was quite oppressive. Meant to be a non smoking room.

This hotel is Shanghai's best kept secret. If you need to stay north of the city, stay here. It feels like a miniature Disneyland. Pictures of the grand staircase are accurate and do not disappoint. Staff checking in told me that the rate for my room had changed -- it had actually become *cheaper* relative to what I booked. They spent a half hour trying to get me the cheaper room rate -- outstanding. The bedroom was luxurious, like staying in a palace. Largest bed I've ever seen -- 1.5x wider than it was long. Short walk from Baoyang Rd metro station. Maybe a half hour to get back to the city on the metro, so not too long though it feels long the first time! Mall next door has food and other amenities. Breakfast was delicious. This was the best hotel I stayed in for the price during my last trip to China. Smoke from other rooms could be smelled in the hall. Fine once we got to our room. The front door of the hotel is on the opposite side from the road entrance -- the building on the road entrance appears to be a spa! You have to walk around the building, which is not too convenient and it can be a little dark at night. However, to me it is 100% worth the walk.
