Hotel is dated and room has cigarette smell despite my supposed selection of a non-smoking room. Room temperature was too high at 24 deg C and I was unable to get it down during the entire week that I stayed there.

My 4th visit to this hotel but first in 7 years. The Qube Hotel was disappointing this time. Tired decor in the rooms and staff and services below average. I don’t think I will stay here again now that new hotels have opened near by.

location is great for the metro with a shopping mall and restaurants nearby The heating in the room was off the scale with 27 degrees recorded one night. I complained to the front desk on the first night that the room was too hot and they sent up a little lady with a long ladder to open up the small window. The heating controls could not be adjusted. The second night I again complained and was told housekeeping would attend to adjust the heating, when I returned from having dinner this was in the form of a fan being plugged in which had the affect of a large hairdryer blowing out hot air all night. The hotel also advertised a shuttle to the airport and this was not provided and the wifi was rubbish but I guess this is down to the government not the hotel.

Close to the airport Hotel rooms were well used, very difficult to converse with hotel staff as very few understood English had to use a phone translator to get anything understood.

Proximity to Pudong. Communication on shuttle bus which was always available to Pudong. Now it seems its used for Disney, yet we were informed its no longer available to Pudong since Covid. No additional bed provided as requested and despite knowledge that three guests were staying, were wrongly informed it was only for two at breakfast. No time to prove that as we had to get to Pudong, but demanded payment before we took breakfast, despite them having a 1000RMB deposit. This hotel we used many times in the past due to proximity to Pudong, local facilities and that there was a hotel shuttle. Now it seems to have focussed on the Disney and local leisure facilities for the domestic business, with staff no longer familiar with the needs of international travellers. We wont be staying here in future.
