It was one of the best lodging experiences we've had. The hospitality of the staff, the perfection of the details, the wonderful dinner, and the great tour of the historic building have made the stay a memorable one, especially for my parents who lived in the neighborhood over 70 years ago.

Excellent hotel. Very clean. The bed is super comfortable. The location is at central China. The staff are all very helpful. Definitely rate this hotel as 10/10. Everything.

The villa is beautiful. And there is a tour around the villa every morning at 10:00. The style and history.

Great location, great property. I thoroughly enjoyed the architecture. Cute cats. Food was just soso. The air was a bit stuffy and required an air purifier.

The place was beautiful, the staff was so so helpful. I had such a great time, good shower and bath, huge bed, amazing breakfast. There is not a single point that I would change.

The hardwares and plumbing need some updates. The shower in our room did not work so they had to move us to a new room. The auto reminder about a stair in the entry way is loud and annoying, which may be normal in local standard but it is not to international travelers.

The hotel is full of history and it is very well located- you can easily walk around and discover many restaurants. Breakfast could do with a couple of more western choices or for people with allergies; but overall a good value for money still.

This boutique hotel is a real find. It has been beautifully restored and everything is first rate. The property has retained its historic charm and has all modern amenities. The location in the former French concession is great for walking. The staff are very friendly and I exchanged a couple of written messages with them. Staff at reception speaks reasonable English but a further upskilling would be great.

A well-run hotel in a fabulous building with loads of history. It's kind of amazing that you can stay there for a normal reasonable hotel rate. The main downside is noise: Since it's an old, wooden building, there's inevitably not much soundproofing between the rooms and the corridors, so if the people around you make a noise you can hear it.

Staff are friendly and helpful with great hospitality. Albeit the room is smaller than we expected and the terrace is not exactly with a view, but it’s a very pleasant stay in the Fairyland! Love the interior and the story how it was built, especially the integration of the West with the Chinese elements. We also loved the breakfast buffet with both Chinese and western choices, one of the things we looked forward to every morning during our stay. As many mentioned, room isn’t really soundproof but not a big problem at all.
