Meego Youth Hotel Shanghai Jingan

the staff were kinda nice :) incredibly overpriced for the room i was given, incredibly dirty, no AC for the entire week i was there, wasn’t allowed to swap rooms, i saw the other rooms and they were far nicer for the same price. the elevator smells like piss, there were cockroach droppings in the bathroom i believe, mold, mildew, everything.

While the facilities were cleaned regularly, there was a lot of built up grime in the bathroom (on handles/the bases of the walls), and as the lip of the shower was virtually nonexistent, it got extra unpleasant whenever someone had recently showered. There also wasn't great temperature control—it got quite hot at night (even in May), but opening the window let a ton of mosquitoes in, so it was a lose-lose situation. Our first full day in our room was also extremely humid, and seemingly because of it, the whole sleeping and bathing area was sticky enough to be felt on the floor.

Clean room, good location, best value for the price.

I didn’t like my stay there

The location is good, the price is cheap. I stayed there for quite a while. The receptionist are the worst I’ve ever met. Super rude to customers sometimes or only to Chinese customers. I was met with hostility and disrespected from them for eating kimchi in a public area where is the only place for eating that no any signs for forbidden with kimchi, also previously, I was targeted and retaliated because I was pointing out their poor service attitude to their manager. They told the older cleaning woman to offense me for revenge. I defended for myself but I have to tell my staying experience in this hostel. The customers in this hostel are complicated. Some r travelers, some r the workers who r working near the hostel, even some night workers who r easily could disturb your sleeping at late night. 崇洋媚外的旅店，不推荐给中国人！

The hotel staffs are friendly but they did not speak English at all, which really surprised me. First time I met receptionists that cannot speak just simple English words but it is still ok for me. We managed with google translate so that was not a big problem

I stay here every time I'm in Shanghai, and it's become a home away from home. It has everything I need, the location is great in Jing'an, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are so many restaurants around. It's such a great place to stay. Nothing.

Nothing dirty, smelly

Perfect room for 3. Quite far from subway. But later it isnt any problem. Because use the metro bus the most, which super convience. Several bus stops around the hotel. And the room it is not really sound proof.

Clean neat and AC is working well.

Nothing, this was my worst stay! Nothing like in pictures. Rooms are old and there is black mold in walls. I changed room 3 times and you can feel and smell the moisture. Bed uncomfortable, walls paper thin and it smells everywhere.

Very nice hotel. Loved my stay. Only issue for me was the beds. My stay was amazing. The staff were very helpful and kind. Thank you for making my Shanghai trip amazing Bed not being comfortable
