Villa Gjeçaj Guesthouse and Restaurant

The location was lovely, we loved all the animals around, the nature, the breakfast spot (there was a lot of greenery and it felt like right at home) The breakfast was really delicious (especially loved the veggies) and we also went for dinner there, soooo good!!? The staff is really nice:) At the start we were put in one room and then after two minutes got switched into another one (which we understand that mistakes happen). Then when we were happily situated at one room for one night, we again got switched to another room for another night. So that was not the best. The toilet in one of the rooms wasn’t flushing the toilet properly.

The view was spectacular! Also, the breakfast was the best breakfast we had over the course of our 2 weeks in Albania. The dinner was very good too.

Beautiful guesthouse and restaurant property with fantastic views. Very friendly family run place. Rooms are a good size with balconies. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and we ate dinner at the restaurant twice it was so good

Food was very tasty

It's a family run guesthouse with only a handful of rooms and we received a warm welcome. The surroundings and garden are beautiful and we loved that there were some animals around (cats, dog, pigs, small cow). The breakfast was great with a lot of fruit and veggies. We also had dinner at the restaurant twice, which was delicious as well. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, also having enough storage space for luggage (which is rare) and the bathroom was spacious. Even though we were on the ground floor, we had a nice view from the balcony of the garden and mountains. Bathroom would need a bit of maintenance (privacy foil didn't look good anymore, tap screen should be replaced/cleaned)

Amazing stay. Absolutely beautiful view from our balcony. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night. The staff was amazing. The room was very comfortable and clean. We walked around the small village and returned to the inn to have dinner in their restaurant which was delicious . Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful.

The views from the balcony are incredible. Our food was incredible and made for an amazing experience.

A beautiful and relaxing oasis, run by a third generation of owners of this property, with stunning views of the mountains and valley. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Their farm to table breakfast (and other meals) is excellent too.

We loved the cleanliness, size, comfortable beds, balcony with gorgeous view, hot shower and terrific breakfast. The location is a few minutes walk from bus stop and village, it’s very convenient. We had dinner there both nights of our stay and it was delicious. The very best thing is the kind staff who helped us get a taxi to the Blue Eye trailhead and made sure our trip was wonderful. We can’t wait to return. We loved everything

The house was very close to the start of the hike to Valbona and also close to the center of town. The staff were so kind! We were the only people staying for some of the nights we were there as it was late in the season, but they always made sure to make a delicious, huge breakfast just for us. The manager also looked after our rental car for a night while we hiked to Valbona and stayed there. The double room was nice and had a nice balcony. Would highly recommend!

Cute and cozy room with wooden floors (that do not get as cold as tiles). Room had enough space to put our things and the location was superb and quiet. The restaurant that belongs to the hotel delivers simple, but good food and after traveling in Albania for 2 weeks this was amongst the best meals we have had in the country. They do have a great selection of vegetarian options as well! The included breakfast was okay, but nothing special, typical Albanian. The coffee was awful though. It got quite cold at night mid-October, but enough blankets were provided. Once a day the heating even turned on for a while! The bathroom had an unpleasant smell (drain smell, very common in Albania). Also we stayed for three nights and did not have a room service once (e.g. someone emptying the toilet paper bin). Overall, we also found it quite expensive for Albania.

Johnny who worked in the restaurant was very helpful, courteous, friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was good and affordable. Breakfast included was very good and plentiful. The first day, the heat in the room was on for one hour in the late afternoon, pre-dinner. By 8 p.m., no heat was on, and we were told it would be on in 15 minutes. An hour later, still no heat, temps low 40 F, told electricity in valley was inadequate to run boiler. Finally, at 10pm, the owner finally turned on the generator... heat ran for 2 hours. The next day, heat was only on from 4-6pm and never came on another time after that. If the facility can not provide basic necessities such as heat, this late in the season, then they shouldn't be open. They advertise that they have heat, but apparently, it is at the whim of the owner and she was not feeling generous while we were there.

Breathtaking views, clean and quiet rooms. Plus the restaurant has locally sourced food which is very tasty .

Great villa to stary in Theth. Staff was so friendly and made our stay really good. We arrived 1h before check in time, the room was not ready yet but they focused on it and in 20min it was ready. Lunch we ordered was amazing. For breakfast, we had good food, very traditional. Our room had a spetacular view fromt he valley. I would stay here again.

This is a great place to stay mainly because of the open air restaurant. The food there is delicious, certainly amongst the best meals we had during the whole trip. There is a problem with the smell during the night, something must be done with the canalization system.

The property was so beautiful with mountains all around, chickens, kittens all around as well. The staff were very kind and helpful. The daily breakfast was the best! Their restaurant was one of the best in Theth! You have to eat there at least once during your stay! All the food is grown in their gardens and so fresh! We really enjoyed Mario’s service and enjoyed talking with him as well. It’s also very close to the center of town so there is a store and ATM close and also bus pickup/drop off We did wake up a couple of times from a barking dog in the middle of the night. Maybe it belonged to the property next door or maybe it was a stray but there is not much they can do about that.
