The location is perfect. We have chosen this hotel because it still preserves the "communist era" architectural features. Our room (and the entire floor) was recently redone, but to our taste the modifications were not quite successful; other "old" floors are much more interesting, with wooden panelings and ceilings and many "tasty" features. Decent bathroom, comfy beds, facilities for making tea and coffee, with good quality coffee machine. Staff not over-friendly, but efficient and respectful. They arranged to keep our luggage after check-out. In the lobby some nice features, like a "designer" library / meeting room. The recently laid wallpaper chips off. The mini-fridge did not work (the light was on, so this is not the case of broken electrical cord or the like). The renovated corridors are gloomy and, frankly, a little frightening. The breakfast was - sorry to say - quite awful (good points: decent coffee, milk with white flakes). This is Bulgaria, with wonderful fruit, ripe tomatoes, etc. - none of this was offered (just a small bowl of "dead" tomatoes and cucumbers tasting like water).

We had the renovated penthouse apartment. The hotel overall had a very unique vibe and atmosphere. Entire room was clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff too. Would definitely stay here again. A great location in the heart of Sofia

Great price value for the location, comfort and cleaness. Silvia from the reception did her best to resolve an issue we had in the room in quick and profissional way.

The location was great. It was minutes away walking distance from everything. During the day the area is extremely loud but since I was out and about it didn't matter. It gets quiet at night. The room I got was horrible, I've been to better hostels. Apparently they went through some renovations but the room they gave me since to not have been touched since WW1. The room was horrible, the bathroom even worse. There was no hot water in the sink, there's an outlet in the bathroom but it l the power goes nowhere. The toilet seat was loose, the base of the sink is completely separated from the sink. The place is dirty. The bed sheets are so old and rough that I had to sleep with long pants and a long sleeve shirt so I wouldn't feel like it was sanding me down. They were so rough. The bed was really hard also.
