Hotel Rai

The room is simple, but it's well kept, clean and comfortable. Nothing was broken or malfunctioning. I only needed one night - I landed around 8pm and moved to long-term accommodation the next day - and for that this was exactly the right choice: a short ride from the airport, easy check-in, no fuss. The breakfast is unpretentious, but filling and tasty - bread, cheese, ham, yoghurt, boiled eggs. And that's exactly right for the price. The coffee with breakfast was genuinely good, which, honestly, surprised me. Everyone I dealt with, on arrival and at check-out, was friendly and helpful. Only the carpet in the room, which looks like it survived from the 1990s. It wasn't actually dirty, but it gives the wrong impression the moment you walk in. Replace it and this room will look much better.

I used to like that hotel. This time it was completely disappointing. Tv in the room was not working. Compressor of the AC system of the building was so noisy so I could not get any sleep. I moved out to another hotel.

Ac didn’t work.

Breakfast was too basic. But now you can get real coffee from the reception instead of the crap they used to serve in the restaurant.

Bad smell in the room.

I have stayed on numerous occasions before. On this occasion I was able to get good genius discount which was helpful. Good location - quiet street, yet within walking distance of major bus stops. Spacious single room. Good bedsheets and a pillow. Large sized bed. Helpful staff, thank you The bathroom drains are somewhat blocked and old - I feel the hotel would benefit from improving them.

Pillows can be better. Two pillows will be great. I always bring mine from home

The woman responsible for the breakfast is rude

24/7 reception was what we needed as we arrived at night. The staff was nice. Close to the airport

AC didn't really work

Spacious rooms, reasonably quiet location yet easy enough to get to places via public transport; good food shops near by. Some staff are quite helpful. Flexible booking conditions. Have stayed here on numerous occasions. I feel the hotel needs to invest into better air conditioning. Climate in Sofia can be very hot.

Apartman was big

Furniture is very basic, but this is what I expected.

AC doesn't work, breakfast is a joke, but overall I can't complain at this price point.

Clean, tidy…hard mattress (which I personally found better than the too soft ones). For a sleep over very convenient. For those saying that you feel like visiting the USSR, I would say that this hotel was definitely a chic one in those days )) and I think it is modernised a bit )) For the price I paid, breakfast could be a bit better. It looks like prices in Sofia have gone up as well.
