Sokcho Stay Hotel

It was very central to Sokcho, if you have a car , with good access to the Seoraksan twenty minutes away . The room was clean , the water pressure good , and a nice view of the passenger terminal and sea water at this little port—so a sea view with an industrial flavor to it . It was a clean place to lay your head with adequate parking and a budget option ! It seemed very industrial around us and not within walking distance of eating places . The reviews oversold the view—-I was expecting a beach view the way everyone carried on over the view ! The beds were very firm by western standards .

Sea view. No immediate beach access, but close enough. Public transport also not immediately by the hotel but very close still (so you can catch a bus to Seoraksan NP with just a 5-min walk). Market and the adjecent shopping and restaurant district very very close. Another entertainment district a little further, still within reach. Very clean rooms. Kudos to the cleaning staff. Note the text on the windows, it does not lie. It tells you to roll down the blinds if you don't want to look at the sunrise. The sunrise will wake you up otherwise. Odd smell on the corridors. It wasn't offensive enough to ask the staff about it, but it did hit us every time when coming out of the rooms. (The rooms and the rest smelled nice and clean.)

The room was airy and had a nice view of the harbor/sea. Sunrise was beautiful. I loved having lots of pillows and the linens were crisp and fresh. The rooftop area was nice, but I stayed there out of season, so it wasn't set up as it probably would be during peak visitation. The location was good, just a few minutes walk to the market, the little Abai Village/Island and the Intercity Bus Terminal. The problem with modern design is that it shows wear so easily. The black bathroom fixtures are looking a little worn, but it was all clean and fresh.

I traveled here via rental car with my dad, and when we couldn’t figure out parking, the gentleman at the desk parked the car for my father. Very conveniently placed facilities and comfortable beds. The view of the sunrise was also enjoyable.

The view was amazing. Had sunrise view right on the window, with a nice and comfortable bathtub. Breakfast is also included. Sparkling clean, wide bathroom, complete amenities. Staff was also helpful, recommending restaurants and places to visit. Overall, im beyond satisfied. -

Great location, close to Fish Market, many restaurants, and the bus that takes you directly to Seoraksan Park. The room had 2 double beds & 4 pillows each(!) and was larger than most in S. Korea; it also had a lovely harbor view and a window that opened, so fresh air was available. There is also a rooftop patio. There is a kettle in the room, but no coffee or tea. There is a small filtered water machine to refill bottles in the lobby. Arrive with your translator app as no English is spoken by the staff, although they are very sweet, pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was weak coffee, white toast with butter and jam, bananas and cereal; some protein was missing! Just some hard-boiled eggs would have been welcome. There is a great need for hooks (towels!) and shelves (toiletries!) in the bathroom, and hooks are also needed in the bedroom. There's plenty of room for them too. Outlets were awkwardly placed, and there weren't enough of them.

Breakfast a bit too basic. Almost no storage space in the room.

Location is perfect and really central to go for beach or restaurant. No comments!
