Rylich Panorama Hotel

Modern clean hotel. Breakfast buffet was huge and varied. Enjoyed the cappuccino and omlette station. staff spoke decent English. My room was very spacious with a nice bathroom and huge comfortable bed. My room faced the road on the 2nd floor so the street noise was loud (especially after a World Cup game). The hotel was also very crowded with several groups/events happening, with other guests making noise in hallways late at night.

While there was nothing major wrong with the rooms, they were extremely small (much smaller than they look in the photos) and there are very few electrical plugs in them so it was hard to charge our items. It was fine for a place near the airport for an overnight, but it might be difficult for longer.

The room was clean! The buffet breakfast was reasonably decent. THAT’S IT!!! I cannot think of anything else to like about this place & that is giving it something positive for what was overall an awful stay! Everything about the place was “shabby!” It looks like it will be awesome in the photos on the reservation websites….BUT….that is where the awesomeness stops! I was talked to like I was unwelcome on the reception desk when I got there very early morning after having arranged an early check-in at extra expense prior to getting to the hotel. Once I had gotten that bit sorted out, having also paid extra for an airport transfer that I later found out is extortionately over the local going rate, when arranged by the hotel (& they said is their policy), I went to the room….TV didn’t work, Air-Con controller didn’t work, Kettle was cracked & broken & the Safe didn’t work for locking & unlocking. They FINALLY got all of this stuff sorted out 1.5 hours later. The towels were like sandpaper & the room is dimly lit for the lighting. I dropped something small on the floor & had to use a flashlight to find it because it was too dark at low level. No point having a room with a view. There is nothing to see & kind of a facade that way anyway. The pool area & roof terrace look nice in the website photos, but in a very poorly kept condition & lots of broken items up there when you get to them. Place massively overcrowded & uncomfortable with too many convention people blocking off all amenities. I actually cancelled my booking for a return journey within two hours of being in the hotel & booked a different one for about US$20 more, which I am sure will be well worth the bit extra for peace of mind, nice facilities & comfort. I would have changed hotels immediately if I was not losing out on so much money for a one night layover in Sorong. VERY disappointed with this hotel & was a dint in my otherwise amazing vacation. WORST I have ever stayed in, in Indonesia from many visits & stays on the many islands over the years, some MUCH cheaper for MUCH nicer. This one was a complete dud for me. You win some, you lose some I suppose!

Massage therapist, healthy bowls, buffet options, comfortable bed. Pool area was run down. Tables and chairs up there were worn out. We booked hotel to be able to use pool area, but hot tubs didn't work, kids were all over the pool, and nothing up there maintained well.

The views were not incredible, but everything else was!

The fish in the aquarium, they had only water, no rocks, plants or anything :(

Bella at the front office was exceptionally helpful. So was Ray at the coffee shop/bar. And every-morning at breakfast there is this one lady who greet me with smile and light conversation that is pleasant. This hotel has the best staffs. The electric kettle in our room is chipped. I ask for replacement, but it never came. And housekeeping took a long time to clean our room. We had our room cleaned only 2 times during our 5 days stay.

Friendly competent staff, outstanding food, a fully equipped gym, sauna and decent pool.

Breakfast buffet selection was quite good. This hotel is close to the port for live aboard pickup. Was looking forward to the Rooftop pool after the flight but when we decided to go, there were too many smokers just hanging around. The TV in bedroom didnt have cable working but there is another TV in living room where it worked fine.

I’m sure this is one of the best hotels in Sorong. The staff is very friendly, and very helpful. The rooms are clean and inviting. We will stay here whenever we are in Sorong. The location isn’t the best for shopping or eating out.

Hi I got this hotel before taking a flight the next day. It's about a 7 min drive. I had breakfast to go box, where I filled it up with buffet items. They gave me a room with no window and asked if that was OK but gave no alternative. The room was small, but my friend and I were able to manage. Staff were friendly but seemed confused at times. Overall it was OK.

There was a wedding in the venue when I stayed so quite noisy when there is an event in the building

Nice room. We opted for an interior room with no windows. Very quite. Very nice buffet breakfast. Reception called a grab to take us to the harbor. Sorong doesn’t seem to be great town but if I need to over night there I would stay at the Panorama again.

Excellent facilities & location No shuttle to and from Airport

We enjoyed our stay at Rylich! Specially after being for 16 days in Raja Ampat, this felt like a luxury hotel. Breakfast was very very good! Location is not great.

Nothing. Dark room with no natural light that was not disclosed online when booking but only upon checkin. They charged us an insane amount for one load of laundry. It cost 30x more than it would have at a local laundromat. We're also vegetarian and their cafe had no vegetarian options and when asked if they could hold the meat on any dishes, they said they couldn't.
