Expect a strong focus on quality, with menus celebrating Scotland’s local larder, from light bites on summer evenings to generous plates perfect after a day on the links. The bed was comfortable with clean linen. The view was great but 5 flights of stairs to obtain it. There is no lift, there are 13 steps to the reception. The rooms are up and down steps. the rooms were hot, no air conditioning and requests for fans were ignored. The 'cosy' room is so small you cannot walk around the bed normally, only sideways, you cannot open suitcases on the floor. The bathroom was very small I had to go sideways into the shower. No extras like shower caps were provided. My friends bathroom flooded the bath mat was not changed and the bin had not been emptied in the bathroom when she arrived. I was with an elderly friend and our rooms were so far apart, which was inconvenient as my friend was 88 with a heart condition and needed help get up and down the 3 flights to her room. The service at breakfast was awful, there was no help you had to ask more than once for anything I was not offered tea or coffee and couldn't be bothered trying to attract their attention. This hotel does not offer value for money the rooms are hot and difficult to access.

Great location, awesome renovations. Nice staff, good restaurant. No AC at that price is a tough pill to swallow. Had to ask for fans after being put in the top floor room with small windows. Had to ask for a second towel (despite staying in a double room with my spouse) twice. The WiFi was very annoying, disconnecting and asking you to resign in every few moments.

Good location, clean and comfortable The breakfast on the first two days was utterly terrible. Following that it was actually excellent. I’m assuming they changed the chef - whoever they originally used was definitely in the wrong line of work.

Good location Good breakfast Water not very hot in the morning, reported and they will sort.

Lovely room Great shower Comfortable and clean beds Welcoming staff Great location The breakfast was disappointing. We had to wait a while for it to be served. Overcooked, inedible bacon and potato scones. Toaster didn't work well. Despite this, enjoyed the coffee and pastries.

Very friendly staff. Room was cosy and painted in relaxing colours. Lovely breakfast with huge choice. We stayed for my daughters graduation ceremony and the reception staff congratulated my daughter and helped make it a really special day. Would be good if this hotel accepted dogs.
