The Golden Lion Hotel has welcomed guests, including royalty, for more than 200 years. The Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote a poem on a hotel window frame, a plaque commemorating this is located on the hotel’s front. It was not clean, I was very hot in the rooms with no air conditioning, it had a small fan that hardly created a breeze. Bird crap on the windows, feathers coming off birds getting in the room. Torn and dirty carpet, a slow elevator that could hardly fit 3 people comfortably. I could go on with more disgusting things. I would never stay at the Golden Lion again. One bar tenderer/waitress was very nice.

Lovely old building, comfortable beds and a bath! Convenient location for pubs and restaurants Parking was hard ti find and we were lucky to get a space. The room was very hot, noisy when the windows were open. Needed a fan. Breakfast very expensive.

The room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom very good. Staff were friendly and helpful overall although we felt the receptionist on duty when we arrived was efficient rather than welcoming. Staff who served us breakfast were great! The storage in the wardrobe meant that it was difficult to hang long garments like dressed which was our only fault.

The bar The room was poor value for money. The window was so high you had to stand on a chair to look out Couldn’t open window because of noise from kitchen external fan and staff opening and closing bin Bed too small . WiFi in room didn’t work no signal poor shower pressure

The onsite bar is very nice and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and the location of the hotel can’t be beaten as it’s only a few steps away from everything you’d possibly need in Stirling. The hotel is badly in need of some refurbishment. The furniture in the room is old and dated, while the walls are quite dirty and in need of some paint. The curtains wouldn’t close properly as they’d snagged on the rails and the room doors slam shut so there is seemingly endless banging throughout the day and into the night.

Perfect location and the car park was very convenient. The reception areas, bar and restaurant were lovely. The room was very small and the bathroom extremely compact! Even with the air conditioning unit it was really too warm and no wi fi upstairs.

Location within walking distance to everything When we checked in recepionist was'nt very welcoming, gave me my room key and told me where the lift was did'nt tell me what floor i was on also was'nt friendly., Can i add a different recepionist was on when we checked out and she was very friendly..
