Hirsch Hotel

I wish I would have gotten a heads up about the construction and was told where to enter the parking lot. The front receptionist told me at check-in that we needed to pay for 4 rooms instead of the three I had confirmed bookings for. The 4th one we were being charged for I had cancelled. I showed her where I had cancelled but she said until it shows in their books Booking.com will not pay the Hirsch Hotel. I literally was up every couple of hours chatting back and forth with customer service to straighten this out. I was happy at checkout to learn it had been taken care of but it didn’t get me back my sleep I had lost.

I always enjoy over 20 and more years I come here - the rooms, and the wonderful food in the restaurant! The staff is wonderful - I'm glad though that the rooms are now getting renovated - so I'm looking forward to that! In 20 years and more coming here, still can't find anything.

Very near a bus stop, which allowed easy access to the Stuttgart city center. Private (free) parking for guests. Very nice restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. The view was looking across about a 30-foot space at other rooms, so we kept our curtains closed. We did not ask about changing rooms, because we knew we wouldn't be in the room much.

The room was not comfortable at all. The facilities are old. The restaurant offers very limited choice of meals.

Very tasty breakfast! The upper mattress was too soft and - why it was put on there at all? Unfortunately I didn't noticed it in the evening, but I guess, I could hardly remove it anyway.

Must ask for towels. Also, hotel internet does not allow VPN usage.

The facilities were perfect for a family, and our family room was a good size. The restaurant looked very popular although we didn't get a chance to try it.

The usual friendly family style welcome at the Hirsch. I've used them before and nothing has declined or become awfully expensive. Being only semi-ambulatory during this visit, I used the restaurant: I'd quite forgotten how good their food is. Not cheap; but good. Wifi proxy is unduly interference-happy: several of my emails (which work fine everywhere else I've been, from Shenzen to the Ukrainian border) did not get sent once the proxy found them. It's 2025 - time to ditch the snitch, gentlemen.

Staff were excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Cleanliness was excellent. The facilities are dated somewhat but do exude some old-world charm. Overall this is a very good hotel for the price.

Plenty of parking spaces. Nice town. The hotel is bit of an older stlye (late 90s perhaps). There were some minor issues with the equipment: e.g. the fridge is disconnected, the shower doors wouldn't close properly. All good otherwise.

A very charming hotel! There was no airco. It was specially difficult to cool down my dog. Fridge wouldn’t cool as well. For me the most difficult thing was the carpet. The whole floor had a super fluffy carpet but as I got to the room I was already sneezing.
