Wonderful friendly and helpful welcome. Great location.

The bathroom was first rate. The lift was very small but useful as I use a stick. It is not far into the center and the S and U trains. Breakfast was excellent The staff were most pleasant and helpful. Their English was excellent The hotel seems to have been opened in early 1960's, not much has changed, The room was ok, no air con and it was hot even with big window open and fan working it was unpleasant. There was a cupboard that once contained a fridge but no longer and it was much needed. There was no tea making facility. At around £100 per night it should have better room facilities, over priced for what was offered

Friendly staff worked hard to provide service. Good breakfast. No air-conditioning, fridge or water in room made for a very uncomfortable stay in hot weather. Housekeeping missed items.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre, which made it very convenient for walking around. Breakfast was good overall, and most of the staff we interacted with were polite, friendly and helpful. The first impression at reception was very poor. We arrived at around 12:50, while check-in was from 14:00, and the very first thing said to us was simply “check-in is from 14:00”, without a greeting or any polite explanation. I understand that early check-in is not guaranteed, but the way this was communicated felt unfriendly and unprofessional. Housekeeping was also a strange experience. We left the room for breakfast around 9:00 and came back at about 9:30 to find housekeeping already inside. Breakfast time is exactly when guests may leave only briefly and return soon, so this felt uncomfortable. We were then told that if we did not want cleaning, we should have used the sign, but this rule had not been explained to us in advance and the tone made it feel like we were being blamed for not knowing a hotel-specific rule. The hotel also feels quite dated and not very well maintained. There were many small signs of wear throughout the room: loose or damaged fixtures, a shower mixer that was not properly fixed, water leaking/splashing in the shower, and visible stains on some curtains/walls. Individually these are small things, but together they made the room feel neglected.
