Bumi Surabaya City Resort

The staff were very friendly and professional. They always greeted us with a warm smile. We'd love to have a fresh juice booth for breakfast i.e. bok choy juice, especially that Indonesia has fresh farm produce (fruits and vegetables). This is also to show our international guests that Indonesia can offer healthy food options. We'd also love to refill our drink bottles with water from gallons to reduce plastic landfills.

Wow what a great place. Have stayed here twice now. Both times exceeded expectations by a country mile. Super friendly staff. Big spacious rooms with huge windows, a great view, and a massive bed. Makes me want to come back to Surabaya just to stay here. The name may have changed but the 5-star service culture is still ever present.

Rooms need to be upgraded. Carpet is old and frayed, toilet seat was old and made of cheap plastic. The toilet was old too...the base was stained and unpleasant to look at.

The only redeeming factor for the hotel was the front desk staff who was very helpful. The hotel lobby is nice but that's about it. The hotel is within walking distance from a central area but quite removed. The rooms are old and dirty. Upon checking I was assigned a room where there were hairs from previous guests in the bathtub and clearly the room hadn't seen a vacuum in a while. I asked to change and was shown a second room where there was a lot of dust on the desk (which shouldn't happen if the room was cleaned the same day) and the bed sheets were dirty. The third room was cleaner so I accepted it, only to find a cockroach in the bathroom in the evening! There was also mold in the bathroom and the carpets are heavily stained throughout the hotel. this may have been a 5* hotel when it opened (I'm guessing a long time ago), but it barely meets a 3* hotel standard today. The walls and windows are thin so I barely slept because it was like the prayers in the middle of the night were in the room (which did not happen when I switched hotels so it has nothing to do with the area). I also had to leave a deposit for the room keycard upon check-in (I've never seen his happen in any hotel, let alone an alleged 5* one). I asked about tours to the surrounding area and when I looked up the company the hotel recommend (they don't organize the tours themselves), I saw the reviews were quite low. I stayed only one night despite a longer reservation and am glad I left!

Spacious room and comfortable bed. My room even had a bath tub! Staff are very polite and friendly. Hotel facilities give a local / Balinese vibe, which puts you in a holiday mood. Decent hotel breakfast with mainly local cuisine but wished there was a bit more variety on Western dishes.

Comfort ambiance in Surabaya City. I love the garden, the room, the restaurant, the lobby. This hotel was my grewth up with, since I was 12 years old. Hope the entertainment like Tavern can find in this place again. And the piano man in the longe, always be my memory qttractment moment, when I need to relax. Thank You. Need some refreshment furniture, and rooms in old section need to be reopened. Traditional meals can be Suroboyo kinds to serve in breakfast time.

The hotel staff was very friendly. Rooms were spacious and kept very clean. The facilities and hotel surroundings also well maintained. Breakfast spread also was good enough. If I go back, I would still prefer to stay here Only draw back was the location. nothing around the hotel for an evening stroll.

first stay at this hotel... breakfast excellent.. staff also... location... view from room and facilities excellent... pool excellent and hot spa/jacuzzi a surprise bonus. value for money... room was very good staff understanding of western guest could be improved. room service prices for food were exorbitant. I only used this service one time. and menu was limited. some facilities were closed, eg. bar and one restaurant.

They have smoking rooms if you request A bitt odd on checkin time by 3pm but if you don't confirm your booking that you are coming after 4pm they cancel your booking wich is a bitt tricky

I loved the garden/outdoor dining area, it was a beautiful place to dine everyday. I also loved the outdoor pool and sauna both very relaxing spaces. My room had a nice view of the city and was very spacious which I loved! And the daily breakfast buffets were so delicious!!! I wish that they provided robes and I also think they could use some fresh wall-to-wall carpeting in the rooms. There were a few obvious stains on the carpet.

It is the best hotel in Surabaya and one of the best in Indonesia, a unique place with wonderful natural amenities, fish ponds, lots of trees and plants. Inside there are countless beautiful things to see, marble, furniture, lamps, paintings and more.

Despite the old-looking facilities, the room is exceptionally clean. The outdoor space for breakfast is also very good. It is also recommended for family, with the big pool, completed with kids pool and hot pool.

Amazing city resort, big comfortable rooms and beds, and nice pool and pool area. Pool is even big enough to do laps (25m). Super friendly staff. Great value for money.
