The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The kitchen was well-equipped with various utensils, which made cooking very easy and convenient. There were also many events organized, which made it easy to meet and connect with people from different countries. I had a great experience and made many wonderful memories here.

Location I was aware it was not airconditioned, but the screen window was bolted shut and our room was very warm as in the afternoon, the sun directly hits our room full blast. And it was very humid at night.

it was easy to reach by public transport it was very noisy all night long from the prostitutes and homeless people on the streets, the fan in the room was squeaky, the main lights in the room were on past 10pm, a teenager vomited all over the hallway and into one of the three bathrooms, the free breakfast was nowhere to be seen

Felt really welcomed and comfortable with the British gentleman working, maybe the German girl was just having a bad day but she was pretty standoffish. Super Young vibe, not the most social. Saw a couple of cockroaches.

Good location. Room was clean. Toilets were okay. There's a baggage room to leave your things before and after your stay. The place is not as chaotic as I expected it to be. People seemed to respect each other's privacy. They advertised FREE LAUNDRY but didn't let us avail it. Kitchen was closed during midnight, not very convenient for someone who has to wake up at midnight for work.

I really enjoyed my stay at Mad Monkey East Side and would stay there again. The staff were friendly and the facilities and rooms were cleaned daily. The hostel hosts nightly events, including a couple free dinners which I haven’t seen at a hostel before! The location was amazing just across the street from the train station and bus stops. There’s also a lot of restaurants and shops nearby for convenience. I would recommend staying at this property!

Close to city, cheap It was nasty, found so many cockroaches, closing kitchen when they are doing free food for 2hours(can’t even cook my own food), small kitchen, Kingcross is noisy and dirty area.

From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, making it easy to meet other backpackers. The rooms were really clean and comfortable and the common areas, especially the courtyard and blue room were perfect for relaxing. East Side also hosted daily social events like international food night and game night which made my stay really enjoyable. Another good thing was the location- very close to the CBD and surrounded by many restaurants, making it easy to visit everything I wanted to see during my stay in Sydney. /
