close to darling harbour and clean and comfy

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The building is old and gives a very cool vibe. They also provided complimentary drink in the bar, we had apple cider and lemon lime bitter and a great night before going to bed. The room is comfy and I had a good sleep. With my aim to go to Sydney Fish Market the following day, the location is good. - The toilet, albeit looking tidy, has cockroaches. When we were there, there were only 2 families so the shared bathroom is fine but I can imagine it being too crowded if there were more people. - The room is cold at night and there is no heating. I think it would definitely be tough in the winter.

Everything is good. The only thing that might need to improve is the quality of bed. The beds have a concave shape in the middle, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. Everything else is perfect.

Location is good. Private room was quiet and clean. Value is exceptional. Staff friendly. Check in was at a busy time at the bar so had to wait 10 mins. Not the end of the world.

It would be nice, if they served some breakfast. There is no AC in the room, but there is a fan.

Very cute local pub. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Simple and spotless. Quiet by 10ish. Honestly - I wouldn't change anything.

Food was original and well done. Bar staff very personable.

Quintessential neighbourhood pub in a quite residential area. Small green luscious park right on its doorstep, a pleasure to have a pint in. Didn't have food as don't serve Mondays and Tuesday's. Pub itself is steeped in history, untouched in many ways but full of character. The rooms are basic, very basic, not en suite. Beds comfortable and clean but no air con. Two fans that don't offer much relief. Annoyingly air con unit directly outside room 4 windows but doesn't serve the bedrooms. Luckily I had good earplugs otherwise I would have found the intermittent noise from it hard to tolerate.

Cozy little spot and friendly staff. Very clean. Loved it to bits.

Amazing location within easy walking distance to Darling Harbor/Chinatown. Check in was easy with the bar staff downstairs who were all very nice and you got a free drink for staying. Room was simple but clean and comfortable. Shared facilities were also well maintained and never had an issue with finding an open toilet or shower. Finding street parking can be tough but we got lucky. Most spots are free 9pm-10am but you’ll need to move or pay during the day. The windows are old/thin so you can hear the people drinking at the bar downstairs on the patio in the afternoon/evening but by the time you’re going to bed things quiet down and it wasn’t an issue (I was on the top floor). No ac which can be typical for older hotels in Sydney but the wall fan did its job well enough and provided good white noise

Could be noisy at points, but it's a pub so that's to be expected.

Nice and quiet

What an incredible property. I arrived at night and with all the trees along the streets and old stonework, it felt like I was approaching a tavern from Lord of the Rings. Fantastic management and great team. They let me leave my bags there during the day and grab them as I was leaving.

Cooler making noise outside our window. No a/c, shared bath.
-
Great location, good price and lovely pub downstairs.
-
I don't recall the room being advertised as having a shared bathroom and the aircon outside room 4 is quite noisy making it hard to sleep

I loved the clean room, tv, bathroom and the first lady who helped me to my room. I would stay again. Lack of vegetarian choices on the menu and the people who were smoking so I had to move to a bench for my meal. Would I eat there again no unless things changed

It has stairs which didn't suiut my partner who has knee issues
