Great location. Friendly staff. Nice brasserie to have dinner at. Rooms were light and airy The control panel for the lights and curtains when you enter the room does not light up so very difficult to see what to press when you enter. Prefer a proper door for the toilet for privacy rather than a glass door that doesn’t shut completely

I love the design and the smart features of the room. It was inconvenient to get drinking water, I had to ask to fill up my water bottle from the staff of the hotel's restaurant.

Great location near Hyde Park. Small, private Boutique-style hotel with an interesting history. Lovely cafe/bar downstairs. Recently renovated with modern facilities

Location, amenities and fabulous room. Total letdown with breakfast service on last morning.. order simply didn’t appear despite asking 3 times…, ended up walking away without food, having paid for it while ordering. (The money was refunded). General air of disorganisation surrounding whole episode.

Gym, bar, location and easy access to everything.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Porter House Hotel. The combined ambience of a older hotel with modern touches/fit out, and technology for operating many aspects of the room was wonderful. The staff were friendly, helpful and even provided a special surprise in the room for my partners birthday on request. Really appreciated this touch. The hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown CBD shops, with train lines and light rail also nearby. We caught the train directly from the airport to CBD and walked to the hotel was only 3mins away - super handy. If you are light sleeper recommend bringing ear plugs as this is an inner city hotel, and Friday and Saturday nights are a bit louder with traffic noise. To be expected in the CBD though. Would happily stay here again.

Rooms are great, location is excellent Bar shut at 9.30pm on a Friday night , for a hotel in this location pitching in this class, charging this nightly rate thats ridiculous

Interior design Stayed in M Galleries all over the world and this one falls short. Single glazing in rooms onto one of Sydney's busiest streets. Seriously? F&B...a disaster in offering and complete failure in staff ability and supervision. No clue whatsoever. Very poor service. Limited and cheap alcohol choices. Also, web site shows dining venue options that no longer exist. Room controls via a convoluted ipad. Seriously? Sometimes a switch does the job easier.Tv channels kept freezing, couldn't adjust tv volume, curtain control hard to adjust. The lights glowing away when you want no light. Who are these people that install glowing light switch pads and thermostats that continue to emit light when they are turned off???

Staff were great. Room was large and clean. Great shower, very comfy bed and pillow selection. Pool was being serviced for our entire trip and didnt know us til we checked into our room. Disappointed but understood why.

I didn’t like anything about this Hotel the staff was horrible. There was noise. The alarm went off in the middle of the night while we were sleeping for no reason and when we decided to leave early, they wouldn’t even bother giving us a credit or trying to, and then they wanted us to check out early so they could sell the room to somebody else. It was noisy. It was not clean. It smelled weird. The food sucked, and the staff was very rude.
