Good solid midrange hotel.

A nice place near the historic center and many great restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable. Breakfast offers a wide selection.

The staff was friendly overall. Location was good. When I arrived to check in, they asked me to pay right away. They also waved down another guest who happened to walk by - to pay for his room - all before checking out, quite unusual. Arriving to the room I noticed it was overall quite dirty and smelled like cigarette. The trashcan was not emptied after the prior guest, the shower was dirty, one of the sidetables was missing, one lightbulb was missing, and I coulnd't turn off the tv. They told me to disconnect the tv. Breakfast was overall OK, but not too many choices (for eg had only one type of bread, no fruit).

I was charged €1.20 more than what I was quoted per night. I brought it up to the receptionist but to no avail.

Amazing accommodations for the price. Excellent value good breakfast.

here was a strange smell in the room

We only stayed for one night, but felt truly welcomed. The staff were super friendly, spoke English, and were very patient with our attempts at Hungarian - even when we totally butchered a few phrases we’d picked up! :P Would definitely stay there again if we’re ever back in Szombathely. The only minor downside was that the room wasn’t fully soundproof, so it could get a bit noisy at times - but nothing too disruptive.

The hotel is quiet. but right off the main square. It is economical and has no real lobby but we liked the Roman themed decor. We had lunch there when we arrived and were pleased they served meals. Breakfast was good. No complaints.

Excellent location. Very clean. The shower included body wash and shampoo. The room had AC, the breakfast was nice, and check-in was fast. Nothing, it was great!

Friendly staff, quick check-in, tidy and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, very well located close to the main square, pubs and restaurants nearby.

After paying €80 for accommodation, we arrive at the location at 10:30 PM and realize that the hotel is locked. You can't get in, the reception doesn't work after 10:00 PM. We call them on the phone, they don't answer. We were forced to look for a completely new accommodation, tired from the trip. I still don't know if we will get our money back. Edit: Regarding the hotel's response below, I am attaching a picture of the phone call that no one answered at 10:30 PM (and the reservation was received an hour before that), as well as pictures of the lights in the hotel turned off, which clearly shows that there is no one in the facility. I still hope that I will get my money back (€80) for a service that we were unable to use. Edit 2: The hotel staff ignores emails, proof of a phone call that they did not answer, and they do not want to refund the money for a service that we were unable to use because no one was in the hotel.

All was good.

It was very central and the staff did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. The decor and facilities were a little dated.

Only a few channels were available on TV (it was raining all the time, so we spent the mornings in the room). The last night we couldn't sleep at all, because there were sounds in the windstorm, as if the building wanted to collapse on us. The room was very dark with just one little window.

The place is right next door to the main square, where a lot of things happen when you come for the ‘Savaria Történelmi Karnevál’. The train station is reachable in like 20 minutes of walk. The room is modern, clean, and stylish. The bathroom is also brand new and clean. And the restaurant… Simple but fantastic dishes freshly prepared, from good quality ingredients. The breakfast is also high quality and delicious.? Not much. In the room 111 the LED screen on the AC unit lights up the whole room for the night. Little bit annoying, but you can get used to it. The toilet is really near to the wall. I mean if you average sized, you’ll have no problem whatsoever. But if you’re tall like me (2m, in American units about 4 and 3/4 bald eagles) you’ll find a bit harder to use it. Otherwise absolutely no complaints, and these are tiny little things, not even problems.
