Great staff. Good location. Rooms a little small but workable.

Excellent value, great staff and ideal location for using as a base to see Northern Ghana. I stayed here three separate nights before travelling to Bolgatanga, Wa and Accra. 10 minute walk to the STC coach station (Wa, Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary) and shared taxi ranks (Bolgatanga and Paga - sacred crocodile ponds). Giddi Lodge restaurant rooftop restaurant is next door. Two out of the three rooms were on the quiet side. The other side has traffic noise during the daytime. Ok at night. Giddi Pass restaurant: had a great meal, a good meal but one meal my two dishes came a long way apart (poor service on that occasion).

A new and clean hotel with central location. Staff were helpful and we had the basic amenities like shower, AC and fan all working well. No big problems with street noise either and we weren't bothered by music from the neighbouring bar as it was mid-week. Sound isolation isn't great so of there is a party next door you're bound to hear it. As is typical in Ghana, there was no bed light in the room. The ceiling light was occasionally blinking in a rather irritating manner. It's also 2 stairs up with no elevator as others have mentioned.

There are plenty hotels in Tamale north (in the direction of the airport) and very few in Tamale central, where most of the places you will actually want to go are. Giddi is perhaps the most conveniently located of all: just in front of the central mosque and central market; behind it is the National Cultural centre; a couple of hundred meters away is the Dakpema palace; and a few minutes walk is the main bus station. The place is very clean and the staff is very kind. On the top floor terrace is a bar where it is nice to relax on the evenings having a drink and watching the rooftops of Tamale - only that in the weekends the music can be quite noise until late at night

Very nice place in the centre of the city. Walking distance from the Aboabo market and other sights. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is so nice and helpfull, they assist you in everything you need. The Gidi bar next to it is also a very nice spot to have food/drink. Couldn't have stayed in a better place in Tamale. Nothing

Big room - balcony, adequate WiFi. Was not noisy at weekend - perhaps I was lucky based on other people's reviews? Helpful and relaxed front desk - all good. It was fine for me

Probably the position??? I don't know. I got so upset during this stay that I DON'T RECCOMAND at all this place!! DO NOT BOOK HERE! What to say? Such a terrible experience as we GOT ROBBED, PROBABLY BY THE STAFF. Me and two other friends spent the night in this "hotel" and, while we where out for the eveninig, someone entered in our rooms and STOLE OUR MONEY from our wallets. The thief was smart 'cause he didn't take all of them, just a part of our money from each of our wallets (3 in total), but it happened right after we withdraw money and changed euros into ghana cedis, so all of us knew EXACTLY how many money we had. He probably thought that because we were leaving the day after we wouldn't have time to realize some of our money where missing but we actually did it in our way to airport. We contacted police, also because we saw there where security cameras inside and out of the "hotel" (sure that the thief(s) had been recorded) but the "hotel" staff wasn't helpful at all. The police stated that the security cameras in this "hotel" STOPPED TO RECORD for at least 15 minutes after we (my friends and I) went out for the evening (the moment someone probably entered our rooms). Of couse the "hotel manager" couldn't find the perpetrator of the theft, he couldn't explain why the cameras weren't working the previous night and also the owner of the "hotel" didn't offer to give us the money back and later find out who did it. We will never know if they were all in agreement and if this also happened to other people (might be possible at all), but it made me really suspicious that the owner of the "hotel" never reached out to us to know better about what happened, to offer us a refound or just to apologise. The service was terrible. I contacted the this "hotel" again once we got back to italy but the only answer I had was "the police is still investigating, I will let you know", but of course, nobody ever let me know anything about this situation.
