Gvino Minda Hotel

Location The worst thing about the room is the shower. The hotel doesn’t show this in the photos, but there’s no shower cabin, no step, so the entire bathroom and toilet get flooded. There’s no point putting down a towel - everything gets wet, doesn’t dry, and smells like sewage. The room wasn’t cleaned once during the three nights. At the same time, there’s a sign that says: if you want to change your towel, throw it on the floor. So in the morning you throw it down, and in the evening you come back and have to pick it up yourself. The air conditioner is very bad, weak, and noisy. It’s old and can’t handle even such a small room. The soundproofing is terrible. You can hear every word from the corridor. Foreign bank cards didn’t work. There’s no lock on the inside of the door. There was never anyone at reception. The staff member was sleeping in another part of the hotel, and you had to go there to find him. I’m very surprised by this hotel’s high rating. For the same money, you can find much better places.

The staff was 100% amazing. The place feels like home. They even gave us food for the flight because we needed to go in the middle of the night. When I asked something they don't have for breakfast, they jest got it for me for the next day. Also, the location was super! In the middle of the old town, just 5 min from the entrance to the botanical garden. They have a garden where you can sit outside a little bit. A great value for money.

Location is great, very close to the old city centre. Wonderful views from the upper terrace, beautifully decorated rooms. The staff is welcoming, caring and helpful. Special thanks to Irina for her help with all our questions, and Natalia for the great breakfasts. The room was spotlessly clean. The building is historic, and feels like living in the 19th century in Tbilisi, but with modern comfort - which is a great experience. The building is a historic one - so steep and narrow stairs are part of the pack. Carrying the suitcases upstairs requires to be in good shape :-) The upper room consists of 2 spaces, but they aren't really separated, it is actually 1 room, which is not quite convenient for family. As opposed to the room itself, the terrace does not look freshly renovated (some peeling paint on the walls etc) and the outdoor furnishing is quite basic. I would not mention this if this room wasn't on the expensive side for small hotels in Tbilisi. As for the price/value, I think this hotel is a bit overpriced.

From the small entrance foyer and narrow staircase, we were very pleasantly surprised at how large our bedroom was; there was more than enough room for a king-size bed, a couch and two large chairs. We shared a balcony with another room, and looked out on a medieval castle and a church. The sheets and bed were very comfy, and the bathroom functioned well. The staff were very accommodating and cooked us a tasty breakfast of potato omelette and oatmeal. They also helped us with parking, which was a bit tricky, given the steep hill the building was on. The neighborhood was fun to walk around, and we found very good Georgian and Thai restaurants nearby. Within five minutes walk, there were several hot sulfur bathing establishments. There was only Russian programming available on the television.

Lovely breakfast, total privacy, quirky and the manager was on hand for any questions. Beautiful views from an enormous balcony. Mini fridge. We have a 9 year old so the walk uphill was a drag, the 2nd room the bed was not a comfortable sofa bed. The crockery apart from mugs and teaspoons and a kettle, was minimal.

The breakfast was great. The food was fresh. The hosts met our accommodation needs and they were very friendly. They made us feel welcomed.

I have been by now four times at Gvino Minda and I would definitely go again. Great location, wonderful big room with large panoramic terrace, clean, friendly staff. Can't ask for more.

There is no elevator, and the stairs are pretty narrow and steep. There is no safe in the room.

The staff is very friendly. The style is very cute. Breakfast was amazing and the beds were comfortable.

This is a beautiful, comfortable spot in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Tbilisi ? The staff are so wonderful and helpful -- I wish I had planned a longer trip!

We had another wonderful stay at Gvino Minda. The staff has been, as ever, friendly, kind and helpful. Location is excellent, the room big and beautifully decorated, and the view from the terrace is a sight to behold. Breakfast is good and varied (each day of our stay we were served different freshly prepared dishes). It feels more like home than an holiday accommodarion. Many thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

Gvino Minda's location is perfect. Walking distance to the baths, Old Tbilisi, shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

the owners/staff are the Most Kind hearted people! perfectly located and wonderful breakfast. thank you for the nice extra of fruits for birthday and a breakfast to Go when we had to Leave early in the monring.

The hospitality was amazing. Family run I believe and very friendly. Great location overall we‘ll definitely come back next time.
