Staff were genuinely friendly and down to earth, especially when travelling with pets - I have 3 dogs! They couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. Slept like a log considering the mutts treated both single beds as theirs! Nothing.

Best sleep I've had in a long time. I'm a very light sleeper but slept like a log. Beds were fantastic. I didn't stay longer!

Just loved this hotel and location. We used it as a base to explore all of the Lake District over our 3 day stay. Breakfast was so good and kept us going most of the day, lovely and so much to eat. The staff were lovely, we didn’t get to know them too well as we were away most of the time and are both very private people. We ate two of the three evenings we stayed there and the food was delicious and such a friendly situation. We can’t praise this hotel enough. Absolutely nothing, we had everything we wanted. There are always the usual moaners who feel they have to knock the places they have stayed but we felt this hotel provided us with all we needed.

Breakfast was lovely Pub had a great homely feel but sadly didn’t have a drink due to a late arrival Perfect location to go to Ullswater or Penrith I wasn’t aware of the pet charge when booking, and didn’t check the reviews about the macerator!

Size of room was tiny but more specifically not enough storage/shelves or surfaces to put things on. Didn't like the Masserator plumbing, very noisy.

A beautiful traditional pub, quirky and interesting. Friendly helpful staff. Room exceptionally clean. Both our evening meal and breakfast were first rate. Good VEGAN options on the evening menu and a cooked vegan breakfast. Just lovely. We will be back.

Evening meal. Bit of a rabbit warren, but old and quaint

Lovely modern rooms in a traditional pub close to Aira Falls. Serves pub food and easy parking, close to M6 for onward travel. Good for one or two nights
