Glansit Akihabara Comfort Capsule Hotel

A 5 stars capsule hotel

No bads, no toilet and bathroom inside, no communication with staff

This review is based on the deluxe accommodation. Larger than the standard capsule, with a storage closet and small desk in a tiny room....but using the shared bathrooms and facilities, and with a sliding door that one cannot lock, rather than a solid door. (This lack of a locking door is a quality of all capsule hotels.) The small desk can be really handy, and being able to stand up in your small space is great. So close to Akihabara station and a ton of places to eat...if you like Aki, this locale is amazing. You have to be comfortable, or at least comfortable enough with shared bathroom and shower facilities. And sleeping in small spaces. Really the only notable downside was having one or two nights with a noisy neighbor. The walls are thing, and one must remain pretty quiet to avoid being an annoyance to other guests.

Cleanliness Location Staff Carpet smell should be improved in the capsule floor due it has light ( feet) smell. Overall it was a great stay. Will surely stay again in this place. Thank you!

Not enough shower stalls

The bath and the free drinks. The toilet was always dirty, the trashcans were not emptied properly and some of the foreign people staying cannot follow the rules.

It was clean. That’s the only positive thing I can say about this place They keep it SO hot in the hotel. 24-27 is unacceptable & I was so uncomfortable I had to repeatedly ask them to turn the temp down. It’s very stuffy in the rooms. It’s quite loud too people coming in & out bc of the heavy door & locker room being right next to bed. The “mattress” is SO uncomfortable it was very thin and I did not sleep well at all. There is only one elevator for the hotel that moves very slowly. They close the bathrooms at 10a to clean which is crazy that’s so early. The “lounge” is a joke, not comfortable at all. They were charging way too much to stay here for what this place is. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it

The toilets were a bit weird they had carpet instead of tiles.

The interior of the hotel is very nice, professional staff to greet you. The amenities are great, especially baths and showers. The sleeping rooms are well organized, not too many capsules in one area. The capsule was a bit too warm. The fan was too loud for me, but worked smoothly.

Great location, staff, clean, and has everything you need!

Enjoyed my stay and plan to return for a long term stay next year in a great location.

No breakfast

A strange and inconvenient architectural choice to have the wash basins in the capsule hallway instead of in the toilet area!? I could never use it since I left the hotel early and came back in the evening, so I had to rely on the bath area in the basement instead.

Property was right in the middle of everything. Rest access to everywhere. Clean and friendly staff

The capsule rooms and bathrooms were very clean The personal locker was spacious As a foreigner, the communal shower room was a surprise, but I was okay with it. The elevator can take a long time because there was only one elevator for 14 floors

location was great and checkin simple. Everything was close by. and facility was clean. well it's a capsule hotel, so all the cons with privacy and noise are to be expected

This was my first time at Japan. I stayed in a capsule hotel at Yokohama a few days before and then this one. In both cases I booked the “premium” capsule on offer. I can tell you this was much better. Cleaner, better ventilated and more comfortable. Also, it was about 50% more expensive than the one at Yokohama. Overall very happy. Capsule hotels tell you to leave your shoes in lockers in the front desk. That’s fine. But the lockers were not ventilated so every morning you get the nice odor when you open the locker to get your shoes.

Stayed in the superior capsule room, meaning larger size than the stacked capsules. One can stand up! There is a mini desk and locker inside the capsule is nice. (In Kyoto Glansit, the locker is outside in a locker room.) Bathroom and lounge were relaxing and lovely. (Near Onsen quality public bath.) Location to Akihabara station is outstanding. Electonic bracelet key-fob was somewhat annoying, as compared to Glansit Kyoto card. One must sort of match up the shape to the locks, rather than the flat card readers in Kyoto. Worse, if you stay multiple nights, your security key must be reprogrammed each day, for that days "security code"....which can become a slight annoyance on day after day stay.
