The mattress was awful( we could feel every single spring) it was harder than sleeping on the ground in a Ryokan. Expensive for nothing The bed was broken Only one electric plug in the all room room + bathroom The AC smelt as well and we couldn’t open the window because it was broken too One microwave in the corridor for the amenities The breakfast was insipid and we didn’t have what expected and what they show (croissant, ham, eggs etc - none of that)
-
limited food to choose from during breakfast

However, the person in the reception was super nice and helped us navigate.

Very close to station but couldn't hear the trains. Very close to amazing supermarkets and eateries. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Drinks available at reception. Go for a walk at night. It's a lovely area. Walk to Ueno park. Don't take the train. Only 20 minutes. Getting to Haneda was easy. Train to Hamamatsucho then the monorail Bed was a bit on the hard side. Stove was an option but we had no pan. Nobody carries a pan on holiday. Fridge was off when we arrived. We switched it on

My partner and I stayed here from March 20th to March 26th in a full bed room. We arrived late at night, and although there was no one at the front desk, the self check-in machine was very easy to use, which made the process smooth and stress-free. When we entered the room, we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. We know that many hotel rooms in Tokyo tend to be quite small, so this was something we really appreciated. The location is excellent! It’s very close to a station on the Yamanote Line, and there are many great local restaurants nearby. There’s also a Don Quijote and a McDonald’s about a 6-minute walk away, which was super convenient. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel offers breakfast, but we didn’t get a chance to try it since we usually left early in the mornings. Includes pajamas and basic amenities at the front desk , which was a nice touch. You receive a key card for access, and everything felt very secure. At first, I was a bit worried about booking because I couldn’t find exact photos of the room type we chose, but after emailing the hotel, they kindly sent us pictures, which reassured us a lot. The room also has a small kitchenette with a sink, some dishes, and a mini fridge, which was extremely useful during our stay. In the hallways, there are microwaves and an ice machine available as well. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. It’s quiet, comfortable, and very conveniently located near the train station. The price is really good too. You pay what you get. The bathroom is quite small, but this is common in Japan, so it was understandable. We’re just more used to larger bathrooms. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but we were still able to rest well. The hotel is near train tracks, but surprisingly, the noise was very minimal.

It is an older building.

Location was great in a walking distance to train station and other public transportations. We could walk to the most land marks in the centre of the city. We had some challenges with toilet function- water was running constantly.
-
location and staff was very kind

The hotel is located next to the railway tracks, but the room was excellently soundproofed. It was in a quieter area, yet very close to several interesting sites (museums, etc.) as well as Ueno Station. We also appreciated having an electric kettle for tea in the room. The Japanese-style buffet breakfast was excellent. The room was very small, but it was sufficient for a short stay (three nights). I would have appreciated more power outlets in the room. The coffee machine at the hotel entrance (available free of charge for guests) didn’t work very well.

Location near Uguisudani Station on JR Yamanote Line JY-06 (Ueno Station is JY-05)(use north exit but only stairs, then about 7 minutes walk. Use self check-in and do not forget your free bottle of water! I was in room 210. The room is well insulated, so it is practically noise free. The size of the room us comparable to most APA hotel rooms (and as I understand it, most Japanese hotels). The hotel is somewhat dated. It needs to update the rooms with modern, larger TV and some of the furniture (it is clean and orderly, mind you). That said, you can see evidence that an upgrade is taking place. I would stay here again on my next trip. This hotel has potential and I hope I can see it improve.

The most satisfying part is that it is very close to the JR station and is relatively friendly to passengers with a lot of luggage. The interior decoration work of the building is still in progress and is relatively unfriendly to people with allergies. The bathtub is too small and requires some effort to adjust the water temperature.
