Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo - Nihombashi Mitsukoshimae

Good location to many parts of the city. Small but functional room. Lobby and reception was underground, which was not expected, but was interesting feature. Liked that the amenities were located in the lobby for one's choosing. Enjoyed the free coffee and tea throughout the day. No public onsen or spa to use in addition to bathroom, but understand that it would have been difficult to have in such a location. We liked almost everything about the hotel.

The location was great! If you just need a bed for the night, this is the place for you. I traveled for work, so I would have liked to have had a desk in my room. But that's my fault for not booking a hotel with desks.

The staff was helpful. The room was clean. the ReFa Twin Room was very small, felt much smaller than other "14" sq.meter rooms. The breakfast area is very congested, hard to move around when other people are eating there. The 2 washing machines are much in demand and it is hard to find them available. I felt that the hotel practice is dishonest because while the price for 1 person or 2 persons in a room on boooking.com is about the same, after making a mistake in the booking and booking only 1 person in the room, they charged me an extra 2000 yen per night in addition to about 1530 yen per day for breakfast (that part does makes sense).

Great location. Room was small, but enough for my son and I. Very clean and well maintained. When booking a room with 2 twin beds, it did not allow me to say there were 2 people (seems obvious with 2 beds) and I was charged an extra fee for second person.

Central location, not far from several stations. A lot of places to eat a 10-15 minutes walk away. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Although the room was said to be 16m2, which is big for Japan, there was absolutely no space to move for two people or to put your luggage. I had the feeling we had more space in smaller rooms. There even was not a table under the TV area... Breakfast is rather non-japanese.

Comfortable for a one night stay that we used before taking the bullet train to Kyoto. No problems with our stay. The breakfast was wonderful with good variety, not included but worth mentioning.

Room to small

The location was great, close to the subway and we also walked to and from Tokyo station a few times (about 20 mins). The rooms were normal small Japan size but it was nice for 3 days. We used the laundry machines in the hotel that was very useful. They have plenty of amenities at reception if you need anything. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We didn't have the breakfast option. We had an issue with the bathroom the first night and the window wasn't sealing so it was a bit noisy. But the hotel reception was excellent and moved us to a different room (with no problems and sealed windows that kept out the noise) when we told them.

Cleanliness, location, staff. Refrigerator was a joke; better not to have one. It was walled off so that only about three pet botte drinks could fit. It was not cold. It was cooler to leave my items in the window seal area. Could have hook on the inside of the bathroom door to hang another towel. No table or chair for a lady to sit and put on make-up.

Great place for basic solo travel. Train station is a short walk away, as well as convenience stores for cheap meals. Hotel staff are friendly and speak English enough for everything to work out. Not many restaurants in the area

Room was abit bigger than usual hotels around this price for 2 pax (eg APA) and it was clean. Bed was comfortable, shower water was warm and overall pleasant experience. There's even packet drip coffee available in the lobby as well as other amenities Not really a complaint given the price and cost savings, but it was a bit of a distance from the train station. Walkable but about 1km?

Staff were welcoming and the facilities are generally well kept. Made two bookings, a few days apart, and stafd informed that the same room, the largest in the hotel, would be reserved for both stays. A brief trip to Osaka was planned in between, and staff kindly suggested we could safely store some luggage at the hotel during our time away. Location is a brief walk from rail stations, in a quiet and calm area. Excellent value. Supposedly the largest room in the hotel, reserved for both stays, is still quite compact and cramped, as most executive style accomodation in this price range. It can be difficult to navigate with a number of suitcases and more than one person in the same room, but is manageable.

The location was pretty good a short walk to most tourist attractions. The room is touch too small for 2 but that’s Tokyo for you. Breakfast was ok it get us going for the day.

Friendly staff and decent accommodations for what you pay for. Actually very comfortable pillows, I got good rest. Older style everything, rooms a little run-down. Broken light fixtures and dirt marks on bathroom doors etc.

The room is really clean and with friendly staff. They were quite helpful. They offered some free facial products but quite watery. They also offered some free toothbrushes with mini toothpaste. The location is close to metro stations but some are accessible by stairs only. There is a Seven-Eleven close by to get stronger coffee or snacks. I also like their laundry machines but be expected to line up sometimes because there are 2 machines only and each load will take 2 hours to wash and dry. I wish that they could offer just some extra mini toothpaste because I don't need a new toothbrush every 3 days during my 9 nights stay. Also, the hotel is a little bit further away (15 minutes walk) for shorter people or older folks to "wheelchair accessible" train station to take Asakusa line (to Narita Airport) with bigger luggages.
