Hotel Yanagibasi

This hotel offers excellent value for the money, especially given its great location just a 3-5 min walk from the station. And the host and hostess were incredibly helpful and kind! The room was smaller than what I expected but to be honest I do not think this was a problem given the price. If I have to really pick one, returning the key to the reception whenever leaving felt slightly restrictive for late night access.

Location is about 5min from Asakusabashi station, pretty convenient. Price is fairly low for the area, and room was pretty spacious and equipped with basic amenities. Can also borrow umbrella for free, which was great since it rained on my 2nd and 3rd day of stay. Need to return room key to reception which may cause inconvenience to travel plans, though there is a number you can call if no one is at the reception but it is still a hassle if you arrive back late. Most staff do not speak good English so there may be a language barrier, especially if you run into issues when you check in or arrive back at hotel late.

Location The staff requested that you could not keep your own key, they seemed suspicious of me for whatever reason. I did not feel welcome and there was active construction going on in the building. The lady at the front desk told me I could not spend another night there even though it seemed like there were tons of empty rooms. It makes it seem like it is a upscale hotel but it is actually so dated and sort of run down, which I didn't care too much about as I was staying for one night

The staff are amazing here. This is not my first day at the hotel and it will not be my last. If you’re looking for a wonderful staff and want to be close to a train station with good value than look no further

Beds are a little hard. Also I prefer more than one pillow.

The hotel Is a old style, family run hotel, and It retains a lot of charm from the old days. Tomoko san, the manager, Is just amazing and will make you feel at home. Three minutes from the closest station, private Room and private bathroom for 6.000 tit is probably the best deal you can find in Tokyo. Definitely recommended Nothing

I think this hotel is unbeatable in this price range. The hotel is at a very comfortable location, with a convenience store right around the corner, a coin laundry right in front, and a train station within 5 minutes. The manager is also incredibly nice and gave me sweets. The room is small, but I would say perfectly fine for solo travelers.

The staff is kind and service provided is good. Luggage was stored and already brought up to my room by the time I came back for "final check-in" -- very positive. The room, as other described, is quite old, but the price is accordingly cheaper The non-smoking room very much smelled like someone smoke there before. Maybe it came from the ancient AC. I couldn't tell, but it was disgusting to me. Very disappointing. Sadly, also the bathroom started to smell like urine sometime after check-in. I let the fan run the whole night to combat it a bit. The bathroom itself seemed pretty clean! so it must have come from some pipe!? Sadly those two equally disgusting smells made the stay very unpleasant.
