I loved that they provided me with a manga to read based on my personal preferences, which I'd answered several days before my stay. The location is very close to Akihabara, so I can just walk there, and the price is very affordable.

We loved our stay at Manga Art Hotel. We loved it so much that we booked again a few days later ! Perfect for our family of 5 (our kids were 5, 11 and 12). Bunk beds and deco were the big highlight of course. We, parents, loved the kitchen setting and the convenient location. the beds were very comfortable, and the whole place (it's huge) was super clean). the only downsides we found were that: the second time we booked the wifi was barely working (level 5), while it was perfect on level 4 when we first booked. Also, a minor point, but no coffee cups. However, if we were to come back to Tokyo, surely we book again at Manga HOtel. It's a very special place to stay in. It makes the whole japanese experience so special.

We loved everything about our stay here. the Manga vibes were exceptional, everything worked perfectly fine./ Great location, the kids loved everything about it.

It was a spacious and clean space for my family of 5. It was a bit loud at night with cars driving by all night. Perhaps thicker windows could help solve this issue.

English selection was decent but the books were definitely gendered. You wont find any "boys anime" titles in the ladies floor. I read some fruits basket and full metal alchemist. There is a restaurant on the first floor but my friend and i were able to find decent food near the station. The balcony was lovely. Guests who stayed there were really kind and conscious of not being too loud. It was clean and overall a nice stay as far as capsule hotels goes. There is not much room for large luggage, i recommend a coin locker. The building is a tad confusing to get into as the elevator for the floor is on the side of the building.

For $21 a night (weekday rates), I did not expect a lot... but the place was clean and met my most basic needs and was a 5-20 minute walk to basic services. Perfect for one person traveling on a budget. Landlord can't control who your bunkmates are, so be prepared for some snoring and late-night disturbances. A white-noise app on your phone should minimize that inconvenience. If you have the potential to be a 'noisy, clumsy and messy' guest - do everyone else a favor and avoid Hostels entirely ;)

We absolutely loved our stay—it exceeded all of our expectations and more. I completed the online check-in while we were on our way to the hotel by submitting our names and passport photos. I highly recommend doing this in advance, as it makes the arrival process incredibly smooth. Many hotels in Japan require this information, especially for international travelers. Upon arrival, there is an iPad at the reception desk where you can connect with a staff member via video call. The process was very easy, and the staff quickly assisted us and provided our door access code. Since we had already completed the online check-in, the entire process took about a minute. We arrived around 10:30 PM and were immediately impressed by how spacious the unit was. We stayed on the 4th floor and had the entire floor to ourselves, which made the experience feel even more exclusive. There was more than enough room for our family of five, and everything was exceptionally clean. As a host in the U.S., I pay close attention to cleanliness, and this place truly exceeded my standards. Our three kids especially loved the bunk beds, individual charging stations, and the overall layout—including the kitchen, living area, and bathrooms. Although we only stayed for one night, this is definitely a place we could stay in for an extended visit. The location is also perfect—right next to the train station and a 7-Eleven, which made everything very convenient. I would give this place more than 10 stars if I could. We would absolutely love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Everything is great!

It was unique and definitely a good stay. The location wasn’t bad it was just a quite bit further away from the main Tokyo train station than it looks, I had to walk it with some luggage) I thought it was good value for a night I might not be able to make but I made it. Flight got delayed and even made it to the last train to Tokyo Station! If you’re doing a late evening flight I’d avoid here for the first night. It’s WAY too far with luggage. My flight got delayed (1.5 hours) and I was on the last train to Tokyo Station. Unfortunately the big main lines don’t connect to this hostel which required me to walk from Tokyo Station with luggage (fortunately there’s a “coin box” luggage station but couldn’t rely on Yamato as it takes 2 days to deliver for late flights). Last local trains in Tokyo take off at midnight. You’re cooked if you missed that.

Nice location, easy to check in. The beds are comfortable and the place is clean. Not much space or lounge or eat. I could see the pod being hot in the summer.

Family of 5, ages 8-16. First time visitor to Tokyo. Our stay Manga art hotel was perfect! The check in was smooth (I had pre checked in online with all of our information and passport info. ) This was important for easy check in on a tablet at the desk, no live person). Small elevator for us and our bags, each floor has a suite were were on 5. Bunk beds were big and comfortable, couch and projector was easy , large kitchen counter with at least 10 stools. 2 separate toilets with heated seats, 2 wash sinks, 1 laundry /dryer combo, 2 shower stalls w soaps and towels. (1 shower has better heat and pressure than the other) . The books were a funky touch and the kids enjoyed scrolling. Couple subway lines nearby and one of the stations was right below the building. 7-11 right next door. The only thing missing was coffee cups and proper storage (only 1 rail with a few hangers) . I would definitely stay again or recommend for anyone wondering where to stay with a group. Big room for Japan! Missing coffee cups, lack of storage, 1 shower was better than other.

The fan in my capsule was broken so I was uncomfortably warm all night. Also the other guests were loud.

Great location - above Bakurocho station (Sobu line J021). Easy to get around Tokyo from here. 7-Eleven literally next door. Supermarket and Family Lawson short walk away. 4 of us stayed, we had heaps of room. Enjoyed the bunk beds - comfortable and generous size (double bed ish size). The beds created individual chill out spaces within the room. Washing machine in apartment if needed. Fridge/Freezer + dish-wash soap + hand soap provided. Quiet non tourist area. Teens enjoyed the projector for watching you tube. Check in works well through iPad. We had uploaded requested documents before hand so it was quick.

It was a pretty good location The pod was oddly designed. I had to climb a ladder and climb across a platform. I had to go to the restroom several times in the night. It was dangerous and probably woke up the adjoining pods

We stayed in the large room (3 bunk beds) which was lovely for our family. Two full bathrooms was a plus. My kids loved all the manga but be aware most of it is in Japanese. We didn't have any need to communicate with staff during our stay so cannot speak to accessibility. There is no front desk staff but you can communicate with someone via tablet. Check in was fairly straightforward but take note of which Manga Art Hotel location you are booked for and don't make the mistake I made thinking there's only one as you may end up at the wrong location. There is no real luggage drop off but they do allow you to leave your belongings outside your room. When we returned the luggage had been moved inside. We obviously kept our valuables with us to be on the safe side. There is also no option for leaving luggage at the hotel after drop off, but we managed to store luggage at the train station until it was time to go to the airport.

I enjoyed the organization of the space, the manage selection around beds had a very cool aesthetic and I would love to come back to spend more time exploring the available selection. The beds themselves were comfortable and it was nice having a luggage storage area under the bed! I don't care about this, but the beds are completely enclosed so if someone is claustrophobic it might feel a little scary, The bed is big enough to have plenty of space.

Everything was so clean and everyone was so nice! Would definitely stay here again! Nothing. It was perfect!

  • Engine customer Dec 2025

The space is very big, can fit all the luggage open. Toilet, bathroom, laundry is very clean and well managed. Really comfortable for a big group. Bunk bed is really love by little kid. Nothing for the property, just one thing is the mrt station is very near but that is very hard to find a lift?

Rooms and beds were nice. The theme and aesthetics were super cool. Staff are nice and friendly. Facilities were nice and clean. Besides the beds/capsules, its a shared space and people can be very loud and obnoxious and inconsiderate. Also shared space so you have to trust that no one will go through your stuff.

Love that the room was spacious. 4 double rooms for the 4 of us meant we have luxurious sleeping space and don't have to fight for the 2 showers and toilets as well. 7-11 just downstairs ? not forgetting the manga to keep the boys occupied. For a heavyweight, I would find the mattress white too thin. The pillows and covers are wonderful though.
