Hotel SUNTARGAS UENO

The staff was very welcoming and despite having a language barrier, they still were able to accommodate me. The room is perfect for solo travelers and near a lot of the amazing areas of Ueno. I was able to spend a whole day in Japan and this hotel made it very easy to travel.

This room size of this hotel is relative better compared to other hotels in Japan, you can open up your suitcase easily. They offer complementary breakfast in the morning although the breakfast is very simple. Also, there is a coffee machine in the lobby which you can enjoy. It's close to Ueno station with easy access to JR and underground (Metro). This is an old-fashion hotel which is still using physical room key with a huge key-chain, you have to leave your key at the reception desk when going out.

Amazing location. You are right next to Ueno station which is one of the best train stations in Tokyo. You can easily go to anywhere in Tokyo and even outside of Tokyo because it also has a bullet train. And the hotel staff are very friendly, they offer room cleaning service, and even free breakfast! :) a real GOAT of a hotel for anyone who wants to crash in Tokyo for a while. So the catch is that, Ueno station is close. However to get to Ueno station, you need to climb up stairs to a pedestrian walkway and that might be problematic if you're carrying a lot of luggage. Personally that is no fault of the hotel but it is something to be aware of.

The staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel is 2-3 min walk from Ueno station which is a great starting point to explore the city. It's in a quiet street. Has a laundry space with separate washing and drying machines. The rooms are small, we couldn't lay down the baggages.

Superb

Hotel location is ideal in regards to sightseeing, shopping, dining out and the subway system. Keisei Ueno is very near so travel to Narita airport is easy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is a bit small but it had everything I needed. WiFi was a bit choppy!

The room was cleaned every day and they let us keep our bags in reception, also very close to Ueno Park The bathrooms were a bit small for someone like me

Location of hotel amazing, close to train, restaurants and shopping. Staff friendly and most spoke some English. Quiet hotel and location. The room was extremely small (standard for Tokyo) as a couple no good. Size ok for solo travellers. The bed and pillow uncomfortable.
