Nice view over the lake, great onsen, good vibe throughout, staff were always helpful. Somehow, dinner missed the mark but the massive breakfast buffet was excellent.

The hospitality was exceptional.

The property was well planned, clean, and taken care of. The amenities were very nice. The private onsen was very relaxing. The staff was very helpful. The service was very hospitable. The menu for dinner and breakfast was carefully selected and delicious. We were well taken care of. We really enjoyed our stay. I only wish I could stay longer.

The staff were extremely nice. We loved the koi pond and the fact you could feed the fish. The biggest drawback was that we did not have a bathroom in our rooms (we were 10 people in 3 rooms) and had to use the public onsen. Several people in our party had tattoos, and we were not allowed to use the public onsen. We had to find time to use the private onsen, which was pretty much always occupied. 40% of all Americans have tattoos. I have never stayed at a hotel, let alone a fairly expensive hotel, that did not have a bathroom in the room. I think that if they are going to prohibit you from using the public onsen, they should either make an accommodation for you where you can reserve the private onsen or provide some kind of cover for you to put over your tattoo. I could never stay at a hotel like this again.

Japanese style home & garden. Coffee and tea should be served in restaurants instead of in the lobby.
-

Private bath to accommodate my tattoos.

I arrived earlier at the property on 5 January before check-in and staff arranged for my luggage to be moved into my room when I came back after exploring. Dinner was good and subsequently during check out i left my luggage at the counter to explore the town more before my train. When I came back and wanted to leave, staff provided me with a lift to the train station. It was raining at that time and the lift was appreciated despite the train station being quite close by. Excellent services by the staff here and I greatly appreciate it. Definite recommend. None.

I really enjoyed my stay at Kansuitei Kozeniya. The Japanese-style room was standard, but the private onsen was great and certainly exceeded my expectations for the price. The host was very kind enough to allow for separate booking of dinner and breakfast for my first day staying there, and the food was very delicious. I enjoyed the excellent service by all the staff there, including a shuttle to Tottori station after check-out. Thank you so much!

The room, meals and onsen were wonderful. On top of that the staff went above and beyond in their service. They were very friendly and helped us many times. Our stay was too short

Simple elegant Ryokan. Had a room on ground floor with balcony overlooking the pond was blissful. Staff was very accommodative and responsive to all my queries. Kaiseki dinner was sumptuous! A bit pricey

Great Onsen with public bath and private bath which are all good and nice service!!! Location is not far away to the train station. And the staff knows I am going to train station and they directly arrange to drop me off after check out. Perfect Japanese breakfast which I love it!! No

A smallish onsen hotel with very attentive staff. The breakfast was excellent. The facility was very tastefully designed. I love the pond feature with koi fish you can feed twice a day. Even though it’s really in the city, the grounds made you feel like you are not. I have no complaints

The staff was really friendly and professional - and the private baths were awesome, 5/5 - if you're looking for a real traditional ryokan experience but also like still having AC and modern convenience, you'll find it here.
