Giardini Mon Plaisir

Giardini Mon Plaisir was our favorite hotel during our recent vacation in Sicily. The building itself is an old family home that Agostino, the owner and our host, has updated into a lovely bed and breakfast. Our bedroom was quiet – indeed the whole house is very quiet even though it sits in an urban neighborhood – and well laid out. The second floor has a wonderful common sitting room. As a first introduction to Giardini Mon Plaisir we were given a refreshing drink outside in the large courtyard with antique statues. There is also a small pool available to guests. Breakfasts were wonderful. Excellent coffee, breads, ripe fruit and made to order scrambled eggs. The tables are set far apart providing plenty of privacy. The hotel is a little outside the historic center but one can take the bus or a cab to reach the historical center or other sites. If you arrive with a car, there is parking in front of the house behind the properties gate. As an added attraction there is a wonderful museum , Museo Regionale Agostino Pepoli, a three minute walk from the front gates. But what makes it most special is that Agostino is a perfect host. He suggested places to visit, helped with reservations and arranged cab rides for us. He also shared family stories and a bit of personal history. Roberto and other staff members are also warm and accommodating. There was nothing at the hotel that we didn't like. The neighborhood around the hotel didn't have much in the way of restaurants. There was a good counter service/take-out place a few blocks away but most restaurants are in the historic center.

The hostess that served us breakfast, checked us in and out was amazing. She remembered that I took cappuccino and that my husband took caffe Americano. The tiered platter of sweets was excellent - especially the croissants. And we enjoyed eggs and bacon a few mornings. The most important part was that we had decided to leave our last location early and asked if they could provide us an extra night and voila, no problem and room was ready on our arrival. Would stay there again! Can't think of anything.

Excellent communication prior to our arrival (and during). Out stay was in a hidden gem setting in the heart of the city. The bedroom was lovely and like stepping back in time in this centuries old grand home. The gardens were lovely and the breakfast was AMAZING! The staff were all so kind and helpful. An oasis in Trapani, a beautiful villa with lush garden and pool on the property, excellent breakfasts, spacious clean room, and an attentive courteous staff. Thank you Agostino, Alessandro and Simona!

The house was a step back in time. An historic building with beautiful gardens. Agostino and his staff were extremely polite and helpful. He provided us with free guides for the area and lots of recommendations including restaurants. The accommodation is a gated building with private car parking, so very secure. It's a15 minute drive from the historic centre of Trapani and 20 minutes from Erice. Nothing!

Our host, Agostino’s middle name is “hospitality!” We had an excellent two day stay. After booking our reservation, Agostino sent me a video welcoming us. He and Simona made our stay wonderful. Agostino was a great resource ahead of, and during, our stay. Located in the heart of Trapani, but secured behind heavy electronic gates, this is THE place to stay in western Sicily! If you like attention to every detail - there is no better place to stay! Thank you, Agostino!!! There was nothing not to like!

It was very nice and remarkable stay! Beautiful house full of history and design, very clean and cute, from the very first minute you'll feel yourself a welcome guest. I would like to come there again for more time.

Location was great, lovely bars and restaurants around. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, so unique and changes everyday. The team are lovely and supportive for all needs.

Fabulous building and staff. The property was lovely. We like walking everywhere and this was just a bit too far/ the walk not nice enough to the old town. We chose this property over the location. It has parking.

Agostino and his staff were avaiable at any time to answer questions help with transportation reservations they were too service. The breakfast was incredible.

It is a very unique hotel B&B. Very charming and relaxing. Within its own garden grounds Great pool and sitting areas to just sit back and relax in the peaceful surroundings. We were well looked after by everyone, who went above and beyond to help. Extremely friendly and kind to us. Can’t think of anything.

Beautiful breakfast served in simple Sicilian surroundings in the ground floor. Alessandro was a calm and helpful attendant to us over breakfast and sent us home with beautiful packed breakfast as we had to leave early. Great for car parking, and using as a base for Beach trips to scopello (45 mins drive), Erice (15 min walk to cable car). Town in Trapani is about 35 min walk and Trapani beaches the same - so fine for us as we like to walk but maybe a bit far for some. Can get Ubers/taxis. This was exactly what we wanted from our stay on this side of Sicily.

We loved every part of our stay and could not recommend Giardini Mon Plaisir enough. Firstly, the house and the grounds are beautiful, stylish and functional, with all the facilities we needed for a week's stay. The pool was a lovely addition. What made our stay were the staff and host. Everyone was excellent and attentive to our every need. Thank you everyone for a wonderful stay!

An absolute gem - tucked away in the quiet residential outskirts of Trapani. Only six bedrooms, beautifully clean and airy, amazing staff who could not do enough for you. Great breakfast, lovely little swimming pool. The only ( slight) drawback is the distance to the old town where most of the restaurants and the port are. Not a problem for us as we had a car ( there is free parking) but other guests tended to use taxis.
