Very clean well presented property everything worked well friendly staff as well just a nice place to stay

The tap in the sink wasn't working (so we used the bath tap) and the heating didn't seem to work as expected which made the room a bit cold - but this didn't have any significant impact on our stay and we still very much enjoyed. We mentioned this at check-out to the lovely staff and were advised we should have called the out of office number, however we were reluctant to do as we saw on the website/ booklet that this number should only be used in an emergency. Overall though a lovely stay with wonderful staff and we would happily stay again knowing how helpful the staff were.

The staff were excellent - super helpful and friendly. The food was also very good - breakfast and dinner were awesome. The king room was beautiful. The two bedroom cottage has seen better days - it was comfortable and had good amenities, but the tub facing was coming off, and there were several parts that hadn't been cleaned (cobwebs, the floors were quite wet on our arrival, including some wet spots on the carpet upstairs (I assume from cleaning?). The top of the bathroom door on the king room was also coming off; we alerted staff of these issues.

Everything about this hotel was exceptional! The rooms were spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and full of quirky charm. We stayed in the stunning wood-panelled room for my dad’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect — elegant, comfortable, and full of character. The attention to detail was incredible: the room was well-stocked, with lovely biscuits, drinks, and thoughtful touches like a birthday card, Welsh cakes, and crisps waiting for us on arrival. The facilities were top-notch, and both the restaurant and the bar were out of this world. Every part of our stay felt special — truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had! The customer service at this hotel was absolutely impeccable. Kieran, the hotel manager, and his colleague (whose name, unfortunately, I can’t remember) were both outstanding — they truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. Kieran even gave us a lift into town one evening when we couldn’t get a taxi and kindly provided a local taxi firm’s business card to ensure we got home safely. He also went out of his way to find me an iPhone charger when I realised I’d forgotten mine. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and you could tell they genuinely loved their jobs and took great pride in making guests feel welcome. Their warmth and thoughtfulness made our stay unforgettable.

The hosts were attentive. We were in a small row house across the square from the hotel, nicely renovated inside. The steam train festival we were attending in Porthmadog was comfortably within walking, or short taxi ride, distance.

Location! Misleading and overcharged. Was told I would have breakfast included, as I paid more through Booking.com than their direct rates. The next morning upon arriving at the dinning room I was told I needed to pay for it By my booking the room through Booking.com the hotel was paid more than they would if I had booked directly for the same room with breakfast included. The same manager who offered the breakfast included the night I booked, was the same who confirmed I paid more but now could not have that breakfast. This was my first time in the UK/Wales, and from the referral of a friend I trusted this would be much better of an experience. I wish this hotel the best. I suggest only this manager be more helpful and genuinely care for the guest. David

Great location and really great to have a cottage, with kitchen, lovely bathroom and several bedrooms. The crockery variety waa good and rubbish and towels changed daily. Some of the kitchen equipment was lacking, 1 pan didn't work on the induction hob which we really needed, not enough utensils, no tea towel - just little things that would have made a massive difference.

Nice clean room and bathroom. Also great food in the restaurant downstairs. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Great service. There is no lift so we had to lug our bags up a steep flight of stairs, also there is very limited spaces for car parking at the front so when we arrived we had to park our car on the central reservation in the middle of the village.
