We stayed for a couple...

Quirky resort. Lots of artsy stuff. But I paid $275 for one night. That didn’t include a bathroom, TV, or phone. Building is very old and historic but not well maintained and the community bathrooms smelled. Not for me.

McMenamins Edgefield is an experience, and we've stayed there a number of times. The rooms, for the most part, are from another era (it used to be the county "poor farm"), but the grounds are spectacular, the heated outdoor pool is stunning at night. The food is somewhat expensive, but my wife and I shared a grilled Ahi appetizer that was outstanding- probably the best I've ever had. It was a hot day (89 degrees) the last day we were there and the Strawberry Basil Crush (with some fancy Vodka) was fabulous. McMenamins is also known for its sturdy home brewed beers. There are several restaurants and numerous places to imbibe (I can think of at least 8) - including some that are almost hidden on the property. It's a mob scene if there is a concert booked (Bob Dylan was playing a couple of days after we left). But on non-concert days you can wander the property, take a dip in the pool and check out the remarkable gardens in relative peace.

McMenamins Edgefield makes for a fantastic getaway, whether for a few nights or just one! The property is absolutely stunning, the staff is super helpful and friendly, the food & drinks (craft beer, wine, cocktails) are top notch, and the soaking pool is amazing and SO relaxing! There's so much to do and see while on the property! It's a fun, quirky place unlike anything else! The only downside is how difficult it is to get a reservation!

Cozy hidden nooks, fabulous gardens, surprise out buildings, comfy porches, and a relaxing soaking pool on a well preserved historical property make this a fun getaway. Fluffy robes provided to use going to and from the pool are a nice touch.

It's not a luxury hotel, but it is interesting! Be forewarned - no TVs in the rooms. Lots to do and see here. Plan to take time to explore all that they offer. There's even a movie theater with the latest movie (we saw the Mandalorian movie!) One thing I would suggest to the management - invest some money in buying new sheets for the beds. Ours had a hole and stains on it. The food at the Black Rabbit restaurant was awesome, as well as the waitress, Shannon!

The beauty of the property just makes you want to keep walking outside. Inside is a travel back in time with history lessons added in. The lazy river pool is the bomb!

We had a wonderful time and loved our stay. Great atmosphere, food and service. Beer is reasonably priced too.

This place has so much character and charm. Old buildings with some history but also with a few squeaks in the floor. The wife loves the variety of plants and flowers around the property. Soaking pool is nice. Staff was friendly. So many choices for food around the property.

The pool hall was our favorite place to be. We absolutely enjoyed a night swim in a beautiful pool. I love being able to walk around and check everything out while being able to enjoy a nice cold drink

Some of the staff were amazing, especially at the spa. Needs improvement: mattresses, pillows, bedding, bedroom rugs, room furniture all need updates, are pretty worn. Rug in room is threadbare. Staff seemed irritated when I asked if there was more coffee/creamer (one or both empty each morning at 10/1030am). Need more vegetables and healthy choices on the menu, it was rough on my belly to eat bar food for all meals for 3 days. I also didn't love commentary from waitstaff about ordering a dessert by myself.
