Best Western Plus Franklin Square Inn Troy/Albany

The tissue box was empty. The coffee machine was missing the pod holder and was not working properly. We had to call the service staff the next morning and it was repaired immediately

The room smelled like cigarettes. The check in lady was not friendly or helpful. Will not be staying there again. Not worth the price.

The night staff in the front desk was very helpful finding us parking at night after the lot was full.

First, there’s not enough parking on the property. We got a $50 ticket for parking on the road across the street. The bed felt like we were sleeping on the boxspring and it was creaky. The shower in our room and the room next to us made so much noise, like a jet plane was taking off. The soap & shampoo felt like they’re watered down. Not worth $200 a night!

Exceptional

It was clean and modern looking. The breakfast was thoughtful since my son is allergic to gluten. Just that the staff was not at the desk whenever I went to them. They were helpful and nice but seemed to be somewhere else in the building.

Place was great. Everything you needed or wanted was right around the corner. Albany itself needs a place like this because Albany itself is a really gritty place.

Just really impressed with the hotel and its staff. Clean, great price, super friendly efficient helpful staff. I would definitely use again.

This is our third stay here while visiting family that lives in Troy. The hotel has great parking, clean facilities, nice room and bathroom. The A/C unit appears to need repair. It was nice and cool but was very loud.

It was beside the river. This hotel and our room were disgusting, in my opinion. From the moment we walked into the lobby, the first impression was poor. There were two young women by the front desk—one behind the reception desk and the other sitting on the bench next to it where the food and drinks were displayed. The one sitting on the bench had her bare, dirty feet up, sitting cross-legged while chatting with her colleague. It looked very unprofessional and unhygienic, especially in an area where food and drinks were available. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve once we got to our room. Several table surfaces were sticky, as though something like jam hadn’t been cleaned off properly (see attached photo). To make matters worse, we found a thick black curly hair trapped between the sliding shower doors. By that point, we were completely put off and couldn’t wait to leave. Overall, the cleanliness and presentation fell well below what I would expect from a Best Western, and I would not stay here again.

We had a great stay

Room was quiet and clean. Had everything that we needed. Enjoyed the hotel breakfast. Parking lots existed on both sides of the building for easier vehicle access.

You're very well taken care of! Quiet a surprise I haven't stayed at a Best Western in many years. I chose this location because of its proximity to Russell Sage college and all the restaurants and shops in the area and I feel like I made the right decision. Thanks to the staff and the community for making our stay so memorable

Our son lives in the historic district of downtown Troy, and the hotel is a short walk from where he lives. We often stay here when visiting him.
