Room with a wonderful lake view from a spacious balcony. Large room with wooden floor and furniture. I loved the balcony for morning yoga with the lake view. The owners are a lovely couple who make sure your expectations are met. Central location with lots of live music, place to rent kayak etc. Music was a bit loud (as rooms are close) and they played till midnight both nights. However I must admit both bands (rock + mellow) and singers were amazing :-) We loved most of their songs! I would advise the owners to review their drivers as the two drivers provided - didn't take us to the places we wanted to visit around lake Toba and we only had one day.

I was first given a room with a direct access to the "beach". Its comfort was very simple, probably enough for my needs and budget as a solo traveler, but I quickly found it not soundproofed, especially from the neighbors above. In other words it was a quite noisy. I complained to the staff and they agreed to upgrade my room to a more comfortable one, one floor above, with a balcony and still a view on the lake. On weekends, there is some pretty loud music played in the vicinity that echoes through the small gulf. There's also some live music played at the bar/restaurant of the property. If you're looking for a quiet place, it might turn you off. Earplugs are necessary if like me you're a light sleeper...

Excellent restaurant on site. Directly on the water. Very basic accommodation A bit more care and maybe a new paint job could improve the place a lot.

This place is just perfect. The people are so warm, the food is delicious, and its simplicity makes it feel like home. I

Food was amazing, we ate there every day. Our hosts were absolutely lovely, went out of their way to help. Steps down to the room were quite challenging, you would have to be very careful walking up and down

It's sad to leave a place like this. Can't think of anything really.
-
it would be nice jf there was some place for your clothes and stuff. the room was spacious, but had only a bed, night table and a normal table.
-
I liked everything about this place

No socket near the bed. No bathroom gel. The toilet is old style with no automatic flush. I couldn't get hot water from the shower. They start too late for breakfast, as no one was there to serve coffee until 9 am.
-
Owner forgot to give us the room key and didn't respond to my text on WhatsApp.

Few steps, the lake. Able to swim. Shops are not far . Many restaurants around. Bike rental is around.

The pillows were smelly with bad odour.

It is a nice guest house by the lake and it has a good restaurant with a terrace, where the family cooks a wide range of dishes (European as well as Indonesian dishes). My room had the private bathroom and a small terrace overlooking the lake. They have a pier a few hundred meters from the guest house where the boat from Parapat will drop you. - there was very weak internet at the rooms, you need to go to the restaurant to have internet - you need to flush the toilet using a bucket with water : if you are not an expert at doing this, all the poop will come back because it's not the same thing as an automatic flushing - only cold water for shower - prices for becak from Tuk Tuk to Tomok omok are exaggerated, on the way back you will pay at least half price even without bargaining

Lovely family run, waterfront guest house, spacious room, in the heart of tuktuk, which is where you want to be on Samosir island. Helpful staff who helped us get the ferry back, provided mopeds and cooked delicious food. Just bare in mind how cheap thie accomodation is, which does allow for some leniency on comfort - Bit of a smell of drains from our room, fair few creepy crawlies etc, no wardrobe. We were fine with this because it was clean and the price was low.

Good service good food and location Nothing

There isn't car parking area. Odor from bathroom. Bathroom also very basic, luckily hot water running well all the time.

Everything. It was a rugged location with the lake and sunset at your doorstep. You can wake up to the sound of the waves and it was quite peaceful. But perhaps the best thing about them is the hospitality, and their FOOD. I tried various different restaurants from my stay at Tuktuk and nothing came close to the food made by Hamlet and Rita at Laster Jony's. It felt like coming back home from a long day of travelling. Definitely try their veggie and cheese omelette, fried rice, and mixed fruit pancake ?. Nothing ?. It was one of the best stays and value for money. Will definitely come back here if I ever visit Samosir again

There is no soap. And no water in the morning before we check out. Luckily got water at lobby, so we refill our bottle and bath using the water. No staff at the lobby which is at 5.30am to 6am so couldn't contact any of them to help us. Only after we checkout theres water back. Ask the staff, she said because of clogging. Too bad we already rush to check out. And the room not sound proof. You can clearly hear people say. Overall is okay. Maybe not our luck with water

I loved this place! We had the room in front of the lake and it was just perfect :) The garden is so beautiful, the water in front is so peaceful and the family is so nice!
