Jiufen The Ocean Theory

Location off the busy old street but close to walk to everything you want to see. The speaker is next to my room, so the music is a little louder in the lobby for me, asked front desk if they could to turn down but seems same to me.

Once inside the room is nice and comfortable and the location is near the main lantern street and the restaurants. Very hard to find with no signs leading if you come with a car, on Google Maps you will not find it. No signs in English.

The breakfast is very Taiwanese and very fit our needs. The location is pretty good. Our room does not have a sea view.

The receptionist was charming. The building is newly renovated in a chic modern theme. Impeccable attention to detail. Peaceful Zen ambiance. The view of the bay is almost perfect except for an elementary school building nearby. Breakfast is freshly made and includes vegetarians. It is at the very top of the hill; I suggest no more than a backpack to climb the crowded million steps. The bathroom is very tidy but designed for smaller bodies.

Excellent location. Staff. The pictures do not reflect reality. The bathroom was tiny. The shower water also fell on the toilet bowl. There was no soundproofing, everything could be heard from the neighboring rooms. The overall impression was extremely modest.

I wish the breakfast time started earlier. We had to leave at 8am and they were ready yet.

I loved how close it was to all the shops and lantern lined streets! What a beautiful city! Easy to check in and the staff was all helpful.

Was in Jiufen off the main shopping street. Included a simple local breakfast and unlimited water, tea during your stay. Size of room was good. Staff Let us check in earlier. It had mold, paint was peeling. Toilet was in the shower room with lots of mold. The pics are deceiving, it’s not been kept. Crack in paint and peeling everywhere. Did I mention mold and paint is cracking and peeling everywhere? Not sure why this bed and breakfast is rated so high. It’s a 3 at best.

The breakfast was excellent and the location was also lovely. Room was smaller than we expected. We would also prefer single use slippers for cleanliness purposes.

Had a great stay! The staff were super nice and friendly, always ready to help. The bed was incredibly soft and comfortable — honestly one of the best I’ve slept in. The toilet was spotless and everything felt really clean. The whole place had a calm, welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
