The location and the staff

Fantastic location, a welcoming family-run hotel, and a beautiful room with a lovely terrace. The atmosphere felt warm and personal, and everything was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Maybe a small open gym or yoga mats on the rooftop would be nice since the yoga studio closed down.

The location is great in Aldea Zama and Diana at the front desk was super nice! Our room had a weird smell like food or something and it wouldn’t go away
-
Probably only the AC facing to my face, outside of that the rest is great value for what you pay for.

The staff’s attentiveness was great. Hote employee answered all our questions and gave us good advice.

I had an absolutely lovely 4 day, 3 night stay at Calea Tulum. It is a new, peaceful hotel in Aldea Zama (opened on December) that is at the level with comfort. A few things that were excellent: 1. The room was big. 2. The beds - mattress and pillow - were very comfortable. I think all were very comfortable memory foam. 3. No construction noise in the mornings (some previous reviews mentioned there was, they must have been done). 4. Wifi strong and reliable. I worked remotely during my stay and had zero problems with video calls. 5. The staff and receptions were so friendly. Just absolutely lovely. The blond receptionist spoke English really well and was very friendly and helpful. 6. Overall the hotel was quiet and peaceful, exactly what I needed. There were a couple things that could be improved but they were minor: 1. I rented a bike from the hotel for 150 MXN per day and took it to the beach (the hotel works with an outdoor company got bike rentals). The bike’s chain fell off while I was biking at the beach and I had to walk 1.5 hours back. Not ideal. The bikes were not well maintained and I don’t think the hotel should be renting them out. But thankfully the hotel didn’t charge me for the rental. The blond receptionist was lovely and helped take care of it. 2. The elevator didn’t work while I was there. So the receptionist carried my bag to my room on 2nd floor, when checking out, I carried it down. Not a big deal at all. 3. During my stay there were some really loud people who moved into the room next to mine and disturbed my peace. They were overall just low brow and inconsiderate, played music loudly during the day and were loud in the early morning (slamming doors, talking loudly, etc). Not the hotel’s fault but the walls are thin and carry all the sound. But overall an excellent experience at a great nightly price. I’d definitely return!

Clean, good looking, great location, no problem with moisture or mold, working AC. Wifi situation took days to sort out. I wish the staff was a little more "solution oriented" and made sure that the actual problem with my internet got fixed on the first attempt. We wasted a whole bunch of back and forth. It it wasn't for that, I rate my stay as 9/10.

Really nice and modern hotel. The location in a new residential area means extremely expensive "fancy" restaurants and taxis.
-
No window in the room.

The staff were very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Early morning construction noises.

Room was excellent, with comfortable beds, and couch , apartment area excellent for husband to sleep while I was up in living room. Balcony was a huge plus to enjoy the evening. Pool area pleasant. Having a coffee maker provided is a huge bonus! Walkable to restaurantes, stores and plaza area. Great atmosphere. Quiet area to sleep. Construction waking you up but hay, it’s booming Tulum!

Wonderful hotel. I liked everything. Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean pool, clean room. Excellent location. There are massage rooms, a café (with very delicious food at the café right behind the hotel), and an excellent pastry shop just 50 meters away—all nearby. Safe neighborhood. There was always a spot for parking my car. I definitely recommend this hotel. Also, the beds were very comfortable and new, and the air conditioners worked perfectly. Mini kittchen whith stowe, refrigerator and all nesessary amenities also presented.

I was super impressed with the yoga studio Centro Calea, is one of the best I have seen. The hotel has one free class per stay. It has a lot of nice details, big rooms and fast internet. Also the staff is really friendly and helpful. Really recommend it. I liked everything.
