The food was my wife's highlight (great breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner). Mine was the staff overall. They take this from a great hotel to a great experience. Very professional, willing to share their stories and always willing to help improve the stay. Overall highlight was our time with Chef Dean - cooking class and private dining. The latter meal was truly world class. Nothing really. A perfect stay.

Amazing resort with beautiful villas in a very good location, quite close to the center. Great facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Having specialty coffee from Kurasu was a bonus! Food from the restaurant was good but could be better, considering everything else is exceptionally good

Our family cannot say enough about this unique property with world class staff. Delicious a la carte breakfast set in rice fields, amazing service, beautiful pool with breathtaking background of lotus ponds, daily morning yoga with a professional yoga instructor, beautiful villa with private pool, the perfect location close to Ubud city, daily fresh fruits, and couples massage included - nothing was left to chance. We've traveled around the world and Tanah Gajah is top tiered!

Tanah Gajah was one of the nicest resorts we've ever stayed in. It is very unique with all of the villas and facilities and accommodation set out over gorgeous grounds. So much care is taken, with fresh flowers decorating statues and beautiful vistas everywhere between the rice paddy fields, lily ponds, the pool area. We ended up staying in the resort a lot more than intended as it was such a pleasure to be in. We were upgraded to a pool villa which added to the experience. Our room was spacious, comfortable and really nicely furnished and decorated with real local character. Breakfasts were exceptional. We really enjoyed all the club benefits particularly the afternoon tea, evening cocktail, paddy field walk and laundry service. The staff were always friendly and efficient. We never saw anyone go in to clean our villa as they seemed to always know when it was free to clean. This is an exceptional place and we would love to return. I hate to pick out anything as this resort was so exceptional but the evening meals didn't quite live up to the excellent level of everything else. The food was always nice and good quality and we still chose to eat in every night so this is a minor criticism but the food just seemed to sound tastier on the menu than was always delivered.

If you're looking for a lively cocktail and restaurant scene, this place is not you you. If you want complete peace and privacy it's perfect. The resort is not new so a few signs of wear and tear are showing, such as the cracked hand basin in our room. New mattresses are probably due too. A poolside menu and water delivery would be appreciated.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Most beautiful and serene hotel grounds. Lots of space and different areas to relax in. We stayed in villa with pool and was absolute luxury. Beautiful communal pools also. Food was amazing and such genuinely lovely and friendly staff. Spa was superb and lovely little gym overlooking rice fields. Lots of lovely little touches and enjoyed afternoon tea and having pre-dinner cocktail watching the hot air balloon. Want to come back as could stay forever in this little gem! Nothing except it was so lovely, I couldn’t get my husband to leave and visit any temples with me!

It was a very beautiful property, with a lush and vibrant landscape. Very kind and hospitable service. Everything was great. Yes, there were some small bugs and geckos outside, but they were all harmless and stayed out of our way.

Gorgeous grounds and beautiful artwork. It’s not really luxury. Great bones but needs attention to details in both product and service. They also definitely need a new chef.

perfect location for a calm and relaxing time, offering excellent food in Villa breakfast and a great selection of drinks and wine. Attending the Tuesday and Friday night Kecak dance is an absolute must when staying at Tanah Gajah resort. The resort is far enough away from the bustle of Ubud but just a short hotel car ride away to go shopping or exploring art and culture. It is so good that we have returned at least once every since our first stay in 2014 (except for COVID shutdown times) Definitely worth the travel. The ideal place to stay. nothing comes to mind
