We had such a lovely time. The room was a dream and the island was paradise. We stayed on a few other islands but this one was our favorite. We enjoyed snorkeling with a variety of fish everyday and the restaurants had a great variety with amazing prices! We could always find beach chairs and shade. We looked at many other hotels on the island and this was in the best location with this nicest staff. We hope to return! ?

The staff, especially the Nepalese staff who greeted us at the speed boat, were so welcoming and friendly. The beach is beautiful and just 30 meters from the hotel. It was not crowded. We saw turtles, reef sharks, and rays on the reef. No need to purchase additional excursions- we saw it all on this small, charming island. We hung a bath towel in one of the bathroom windows for privacy to shower. The windows didn’t have screens so we had to watch out for mosquitoes.

Good location across from snorkeling reef. Small island. Everything is close Excursions not easy to set up with hotel staff. No system other than ask and maybe they csn put something together. Breakfast will not be allowed before 0730. Most your boats leave at 0730 so you miss Breakfast. Suggest you dont book room with Breakfast included. Plenty of places to eat. Ona Noa Restaurant by the boat wharf area. Opens at 0600. Excellent food, service and prices.

There is no reception or staff at this hotel. It is an Airbnb style not a hotel and it is very poorly run at best.

Just steps away from a beautiful beach. Amazing house reef -- abundant tropical fish, reef sharks, sea turtle an easy snorkeling swim from the shore. Staff were very attentive and helpful in meeting our needs and helping us arrange an amazing snorkeling expedition.

Very nice and welcoming staff, it's a hotel located at the beach.. They hv nice place to sit under the palm trees at the beach.. Snorkeling equipment is available and free to use...u can go any time... Rooms service is done twice a day... Owner/Manager is cooperative and tries his best to facilitate.. U can engage him to plan excursion and island/resort trips... Bathroom window was not installed and temporary wooden plank was thr with a lot of gap in between but bathroom was neat and well equipped Food is adequate, there r other options available at the island but not exceptional as u ll find in an urban area. USD is accepted everywhere, no need to change to MVR. At Airport, u ll find ppl who ll misguide and ask to change to local currency.. Green Tax payment is accepted only in USD, similarly excursions and water sports vendors prefer USD and MVR to USD conversion rate is high on islands There is a lot of construction going on at the island and u might hear drilling and other construction noises during day time but it won't matter much if u r spending ur time on the beach or snorkeling or excursion.

Friendly helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Fantastic room with balcony jacuzzi bath. Rustic, relaxed place to stay directly on beach. Decent breakfast and evening meal choice. Boat transfers arranged for us , no need to worry about anything. Would definitely recommend ?

Overall it is very good, probably the best accommodation on the island. Housekeeping staff is perfect, they clean rooms daily and professionaly, they provide towels daily. Excellent excursion organization, the manager of the excursion is a nice calm guy, keeps his word and promises. There are a few areas that could be improved, like more furniture on the balcony (comfy chairs/sofas to enjoy the balcony). Improve bathrooms a bit, keep privacy in mind (more shading covers), especially when nearby huge hotels get completed.

10 yards from the beach which has a very accessible house reef which is safe - even for kids under supervision. Saw sharks turtles and a myriad of fish - absolutely amazing. Ibrahim organised boats too and from the island and transport between hotel and port plus snorkelling trips - manta ray trip not to be missed. Nothing was too much trouble. There is some construction ongoing nearby but that’s the same all over ukulhas at the moment - didn’t detract from our holiday

My stay at West Sands was truly magical. The hotel staff arranged a convenient round-trip speedboat transfer from the airport, and we enjoyed a 20% discount on the normal price. The meals were both healthy and delicious, with plenty of fresh vegetables. Just a short walk through a lush patch of bushes led us to the famous bikini beach, where we loved relaxing on the soft white sand and watching small fish swim in the clear water. Although our room was a bit dated, it was perfectly clean and cozy. While there were some renovation sounds from the developing Ukulhas Island, they were more of a gentle hum than a distraction. Overall, it was a refreshing holiday, and I highly recommend West Sands for a lovely escape!

The room was beautiful and very clean. The hotel is very nice overall, and we had a great time. We must say that the staff was the nicest we ever encountered, especially the room service and the kitchen staff of the joined restaurant. The hotel organised excursions for us, and it was amazing. We saw whale sharks, mantas, nurse sharks and beautiful coral reefs. Thank you for an amazing experience West Sands!

Wow wow wow. The staff, especially the manager Hardy are absolutely fantastic. We stayed here for 3 weeks and every wish we had was fulfilled. The food is very good, especially the fish ?.
