Cantagua Hostel

I really liked the walk from the Historical center to this place and its cool hipster surroundings, which are just out of it. This place can be a great experience if you ve never tapped into the hostel thing. More and more places cater these days for hundreds of customers whilst this one keeps the lounge hostel vibe real, in style. If you plan on sleeping at night, you should be fine. Or you can proofread your Spanish listening skills in the daytime. Staff are Chill. You can and should get to the beach from here. Transport connections are pretty damn good. If you re going to the Arena for a gig you d stay here. Last but not least, bunks are comfy and clean No room windows. Ok. A/C. The interiors have forced the designer (big up!) to put bathrooms in the rooms. Whilst the loo and the shower have a door in between them and the dorm, the 2 slick sinks and lighted mirrors (girls you gonna luv it!) in the room are outside that door. So just when you re trying to get a much needed sleep, you might learn instead about some big brand s new perfume collection from the gals or football game from the lads. Otherwise interesting conversations yes. Sometimes the dorm door stays open, which is a nice air relief, but you get chat and music from the common room. Travel makes it necessary to get some daytime sleep at some point. And here you probably won't get it, say on a busy day. The fact you sign a paper saying there should be no noise after 10pm shouldn't stop the management from hinting the customers about being considerate of their fellow hostellers' sleep, when in the dorm. Or at least after you give em the old wiggling signal from your bunk ("I'm here mofo! :) But then again you might get in response the also ancient Adagio: "Hey Man. This is a Hostel!"

They could definitely oil the dorm doors but that’s it!

Homie vibe . It was easy to make friends : Gather ; have dinners and drinks . Maybe even too much as it does stress out the staff as we insist on staying up and chatting. (At some point we were 10-12 in the lobby having a blast (just chatting) past curfew ) so it was hard to stop the party cause 2-3 wanted to sleep . But the staff are sweet hearts and think of everyone’s comfort . Those who were up and those in bed . And we found a balance . Was Special time so thank you . Maybe some isolation for winter goers , but that needs money so pay these people ! Book it !

It was clean, the staff and cleaning lady cleaned pretty often and kept it tidy, although we saw a cockroach in the common room.. The beds were comfortable and not squeaky. The staff were mainly volunteers, they were all friendly and helpful.. The kitchen was sufficient. The hostel guests were very social, I recommend joining hostel’s WhatsApp.. The distance to the city centre or beach was walkable, although it wasn’t the shortest.. Apart from a few snoring men and noisy, drunk guests I don’t have much to complain about..

Exceptional

The hostel was cozy with a great common room. For the most part, the people there were open to socialzing a bit and it didn't get loud at night because they they turned off the lights at 23:00. The area Russafa was also great for food, bars, hangiung out and not feeling very tourist, much better than the old town centre. Sink in the main room, so if you wash your hands or brush your teeth after 23:00 everyone hears it Ventilation at night time lacking, opening windows would be great and the AC being on at a lower temperature also.

I felt a bit ostracized as I didn't speak Spanish. There seemed to be a family meal every night but seemed just staff n their friends. Hostel was clean and convenient. Somebody stole my beer from the fridge! ?

Social and respectful vibe, happy and welcoming staff, and great facilities with lots of natural light. Best of the 5 hostels I have stayed in in Valencia by far.

The staff is amazing! Everything is super clean and the common space is very comfortable. Will be coming back here for sure.

Gladly returned another time. One of the best, most cozy and relaxing and interactive hostels I have ever stayed! A bit of a walk to the main attractions by foot. But therefore you are staying in a very local neighbourhood with nice bars.

Very nice showers & toilet. Strong and very fast wifi. The light does not turn off automatically.

Quiet room, good night sleep, modern-looking common room. Staff at reception was helpful. Location is in a great area full of cafes and bars. Recommended. Towel should have been included in room rate.
