The area is lovely Extremely disappointing experience and completely unacceptable for the price we paid. The room we were initially given looked completely different from the room shown in the photos when we booked. Had we seen an accurate representation of it, we would never have booked it. The bathroom setup was particularly shocking: the shower and sink were essentially part of the bedroom, directly facing the bed, with virtually no privacy. More importantly, the room was simply not clean. The floor was visibly dirty, stained and had hairs on it when we arrived. We raised our concerns with reception immediately, but unfortunately we found the initial response from the staff dismissive and unhelpful. After complaining again, we were eventually moved to a different room on the second day, which we appreciated. However, this does not change the fact that we had already been made to spend our first night in a room that was both very different from what we believed we had booked and in an unacceptable state of cleanliness. We paid around €300 for a two-night stay for two people, and the experience was nowhere near the standard we reasonably expected at that price. I am a frequent Booking.com traveller and a top-tier Genius member, and I have rarely felt the need to leave such a negative review. The replacement room improved the situation, but the overall experience — particularly the misleading presentation of the original room, its cleanliness and the way our initial complaint was handled — was extremely disappointing. I would not stay here again.

Location is perfect, found free parking on the other side of the rio area, breakfast was awesome and we enjoyed the spa a lot plus the roof top is beautiful

The staff were so friendly, kind and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel was inclusive and spotless. Our room was really comfortable for a week’s stay and a good escape from the heat. (Loved being able to watch Netflix during rests). There were a lot of options available at breakfast, which we really enjoyed. The coffee was amazing! We loved the terrace and being able to cool down in the small pool. It was really a special experience being able to spend the late evening on the terrace, enjoying the views. Spa was also great. The hotel is in a perfect location. We spent the week exploring different parts of the city, all easily accessible from the hotel. Valencia is just beautiful. Thank you Daniel and team! The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful (Sergio and Daniel). The room was a good size and I loved the exposed brick,clean and comfortable. I enjoyed using the plunge pool on the roof top. Breakfast had a few different options which were very fresh and tasty. The location was great as there were lots to see and walking distance to some great restaurants.it was an awesome experience and I’d definitely stay at the axel again. :-) Nothing.

Great small hotel with fabulous facilities, gym,spa, rooftop terrace with dipping pool. Outstanding breakfast and amazing staff. Rooms are lovely, loved the open plan style which might not suit everyone but we felt it went great with the overall vibe of this place Would not stay anywhere else in València No bar

This is a lovely, comfortable hotel with very friendly staff who are welcoming to everyone. I didn't feel in any way out of place staying there with my daughter. The hotel has no parking but there are parking garages you can book a place in a 10-15 minute walk away.

The staff at the reception were super nice and helpful The location is quite good, inside the old city, walking distance from the main attractions and some nice restaurants. The rooms are a bit dated. Not as nice as they look in the pics. The pool on the roof is very small and there is no shade at all to hide from the scorching sun

Excellent room and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great too. WiFi wasn't the best, but it's a very minor quibble.
