Fabulous hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast one of the best we’ve had. The room was very clean and the AC saved the day! We ate in the Brasserie and would have liked more fresh veg with our meal as everything was swimming in butter. It was, however, very nice.

Hotel and grounds are lovely, rooms are well equipped and decent size. We ate at La Brasserie but wanted to try La Table (we were too late in booking, so book advance). But we weren't disappointed with La Brasserie, food was great and good value. We would have scored it a 10/10 but an incident at the end ruined our experience. There was a confusion with the breakfast time, we arrived when the kitchen had closed. However, the staff at the kitchen were very accommodating and prepared a last minute breakfast for us, which we really appreciated. As it wasn't the full breakfast spread/experience, they said the breakfast will be complimentary and told the reception not to charge us. On check out, the receptionist refused to refund as we had already pre-paid the breakfast (refunding money back into an account is not impossible in this stone age). The issue is, don't promise something to then go back on your word - this is not professional.

The property was beautiful, including the gardens. The bar was fun and professionally staffed. For a hotel of this category, I really think cloth napkins in the dinning room are expected. Also, the towels in the guests rooms were surprisingly thin, worn, and not up to standard for such a hotel of this quality.

We loved this hotel from top to bottom: the beautifully-styled and comfortable room, the spacious and elegant bar, the light and attractive restaurant (we ate twice in La Brasserie), the excellent dinners and breakfast, the great sauna and spa complex and the extensive gardens which you can wander round and enjoy. The staff were all charming and helpful, with a 'can do' attitude. We also loved the way the enchanted forest theme is brought into the hotel. It made our view from the room, looking through trees, even more entrancing. We can't wait to go back. Nothing, except perhaps the cost of breakfast when you are a party of four!

Pretty gardens Rooms were clean and comfortable but decorated in a charmless, corporate style we paid extra to stay in the ‘chateau’ but there was nothing to suggest it was anything other than a standard modern room - and the windows were too high for a view of the gardens. Aldo the spa area was much too busy for its size.
