The word “deluxe” is misleading. The view is the most deluxe part of the room. Breakfast and restaurant are both good and the staff as well. The facilities are in need of upgrading. Location is very good. Needs up grading within the unit.

The ganga view from the room!! I have traded my comfort for the early morning sunrise view!!!! Restrooms are extremely small and it’s genuinely difficult to use the commode comfortably. The approach roads are also narrow and tricky, and it feels like comfort has been sacrificed just for the Ganga view from the room. If you plan to stay here, be prepared to walk at least 40 minutes (to and fro) whenever you want to go out to get food or visit nearby temples, which can be quite tiring.

The staff is excellent, and very knowledgeable about things to do in the area. They are also incredibly accommodating. The morning breakfast is great, with different options every day. WiFi was great. It is a budget hotel. The rooms are small. We had 3 rooms. One had a good shower, the other two rooms did not have hot water.

Location of the property is terrific. Fantastic view from the room Is a bit of a walk through meandering lanes from the main road. More direction boards will be helpful

We spent 4 nights at Palace on the Steps. The rooms are small and basic but the location for the price is unbeatable. Being able to watch ghat life on the Ganges from your room balcony or the rooftop terrace is incredible. The food at the restaurant was also great. The hotel is hard to find - and contacting the hotel to organise assistance on arrival was tricky - but it is worth persevering. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I just keep coming back. The views over the Ganges from the room and the restaurant are unbeatable. The staff are lovely and breakfast is great.

Great location, staff very helpful and ready to respond to any needs or questions quickly, helped me carry luggage. The view from the cafe is amazing. The bed was huge and comfy. Felt very protected when I realised people were on guard around the building 24/7 and making sure the monkeys don’t stay around on my roof. It was a pleasant touch that they had recently refreshed the painted art on the walls near the buildings and it brought me a feeling of safety and care for surroundings. On arrival the staff showed me their two buildings and allowed me to choose which room I want to stay in. Very kind to provide complimentary water and toiletries, which was not just shower gel etc but even a comb and a dental and a shaving kit. Breakfast was lovely and arrived quickly. Great experience, would absolutely come again! Also met another solo female traveller guest who returned here many times so it seems like a good place to be and worth climbing the steps for. There were some mosquitoes and a dragonfly in my room which I lost and couldn’t find later to ask staff for help when they were there, but they gave me a refill mosquito repellent which solved the problem. Water from near the AC on the wall was slightly trickling down which was just tiny so it didn’t cause me an inconvenience. Ventilation was good where I stayed as there were fans both in the bathroom and room, however perhaps airing the rooms a bit more often would help.

Rooms are awesome. The bed is so comfortable. Food is so fresh. Breakfast is excellent. The view from the balcony is magnificent.

The TV was not working, the shower was leaking and the wardrobe had nails sticking out which was dangeroud.
