Lobby can be improved and make it more congruent with the mezzanine

Outside of the rooms it smelled if someone was smoking

Very conveniently located and comfortable small hotel, with very accommodating staff and very nice breakfast. I especially appreciated the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Room was not large, but was fine for a short stay.

Good location. Metro station is located just 80m away. 4 stops to the historic centre and São Bento station. There is also a El Corte Inglés besides the station with food court underground. Breakfast was a bit simple, but still good.

Breakfast should improve the choices. I.E. Scramble eggs.

The coffee was strangely bad.

The location is excellent for visiting Porto and the bodegas in Gaia. Only 60metres from the metro station and 2€ into Porto. All areas were clean with daily room service. Reception staff very helpful. Whilst all areas were clean I did see in my room that the corners in the bathroom by the shower screen had been missed or were becoming rusty. Only a small point.

Rooms clean, housekeeping also good A couple more news channels in English would have been a bonus. 3 min walk to metro and Il Corte Englaise Department store with huge Supermarket. Also Food Hall options and restaurant. Ask for a quiet room when booking.

Pleasant stay and clean room. Solo trip and felt safe. Good location for tram and bus. Friendly staff.

Loby area is very small. No place for meetings.

Breakfast choices were good. No bath/shower mat in the bathroom. No handles on the wall and edge of the bath to make it easier for elderly people to get up out of the bath.

- The staff was welcoming, polite, and very pleasant. - Everything was clean with a mild, delightful fragrance. - Good bathroom with a great shower that wouldn't leak. - My room was placed on an upper floor, which was really appreciated. - Quiet and peaceful. - The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress was stiff and overall unpleasant. - There was an empty minibar fridge that was supposedly turned off, but was emitting heat (?). The fridge was inside the bedside table, and everything on top of it would get hot. I had a lip balm that ended up melting. - The air conditioning didn't work (it would turn on and automatically turn off a few seconds later), and even though it was January and cold, the room was very hot. Good thing that it was cold outside and I kept the window open for a few hours. Otherwise it would be impossible to sleep there. Beware if you are visiting with warm weather.

The price was great! In fact the hotel web site says "... the hotel is characterized by a simple and functional decoration, designed entirely for the comfort of the guests" so you are not getting the most luxurious hotel at this price. But at the price I paid, this is an excellent value. The location is great! It is one block from to the Porto Metro station named João de Deus, and a 10 minute ride on the Metro takes you to downtown Porto for sightseeing and restaurants. Walking around near the hotel was very safe, lots of restaurants and shops, and even sightseeing near the hotel was great — see photo attached of the Mosteiro (Monastery) Santo Agostinho da Serra do Pilar, about a one mile walk down the main street of Vila Nova de Gaia toward the Douro River. I write this complaint about almost every hotel. I cannot drink real milk, and I would love some plant milk so I could have cereal for breakfast, but there was none. The rest of the breakfast was fine, pastries, eggs, meats.

The location is close to the public transportation, has parking and very comfortable rooms. Everything was good.
