Travelodge by Wyndham Virginia Beach Bay Beach

The room gave us what we needed which was a nice place to stay for the night with a clean room and access to the local beach. The staff are a little cranky, but who isn't nowadays?

Let's start with the parking lot, it is on a major slant even though the surrounding property is flat. The Door key is difficult to use, the curtains were torn, the room is dated is the cleanliness is questionable at best, the sower didn't work and the neighborhood was sketchy at best. If I saw this property prior to booking I never would have checked in. If you are considering booking, don't just keep on going.

Because it was close to the beach and convenient. When we arrived I was going to my room and there was a man and woman smoking and drinking right in front of my door. I was traveling with 2 girls my daughter and niece. I didn’t like that but then they didn’t do it anymore when they realized we were going to stay there.

Walls were dirty visable spills on walls. door shut and latched but no weather stripping left a crack in the wide enough to see the sun from outside from inside. Tv in was a small 19 inch tv. Everyday our key card would have to be reset even in the sleeve in wallet it would deactivate while in my purse with my phone. Had to have it reset 3 times in a two day stay.

Staff was arrogant and not helpful. The showers had no pressure, dirty and coffee pot was not working we ask the front desk to replace it but she said they didn’t have an extra one. The key card didn’t open the door you had to try it for a few times to get the door open.

The air conditioning worked well. The room had a funny smell that was offensive.

First to start of the location of the hotel is great , wasn’t to far from the main strip of VA beach as well as the activities I had planned for my wife and kids . Was easy to get in and out of as far as traffic is considered, as well as loved the fact that it was a block away from Dunkin’ Donuts and 7-11 . I would love to shine light on a specific staff member you have at this location Named Paul , Paul was the person that checked me in as I ran into a issue with my card I was using , it got Declined at first but Paul didn’t make me feel embarrassed and I appreciate that , as well as through out my stay I dealt with him multiple times and every time was a great experience, he’s very friendly,polite , and knowledgeable, he actually gave great suggestion for breakfast spots as well as dinner spots . He also was very attentive the entire stay and made sure if I had any issues he resolved them to the best of his abilities and I as well as my wife really appreciated that . Good job Paul if and when we come back you definitely made it to where we would stay here again. For starters , we walked into the room and the floors were not swept or very clean , the sink area / bathroom wasnt very tidy as well (we cleaned and wiped everything down ourselves just to not cause any conflict and or issues) the micro wave and refrigerator as well as the coffee maker were very dirty ( we wiped out the fridge and microwave as well ) didn’t wipe the coffee maker cause we didn’t use it as well as the ice bucket . The safety locks on the door were not there (As far as the latching one goes) bed sheets had stains on them (Looked to be white / oil stains) , The shower wasnt very clean as well (Sprayed that down and cleaned it as well) and the bar / hookah bar that’s next to the property had a lot of lets just activities going on through out the evening / night (Fights) that my children witnessed, as I know you have no control of that it’s just a concern I wanted to voice .

We stayed at this hotel in 2024 and had a great experience. Not so much this time. We checked in and found that the beds had been changed to smaller beds, I booked a queen and the bed we had was a full at most. The staff was not very helpful, claiming that they only had queens and kings. I can overlook that, then we get to inspecting the room and find a night stand almost falling off the wall, several of the outlets did not work, and the room was not very clean. My wife went down to ask for additional towels and was told the only way to get more towels was to bring the used towels to the front desk and they would be replaced. We had 2 towels! My wife was expected to shower and dry her hair and the rest of her then take those towels down to the front desk so we could get dry towels so I could then shower! What a load of pucky. We went and bought towels to use for the rest of our stay. I will never be back, the convenience of its location was the biggest selling point for this hotel, however, that isn’t enough for us anymore.

you can walk to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood room can use a paint job ,very hard time crossing the street due to all the road construction and limited cross walks

Nothing at the hotel . The Mexican restaurent next door and the breakfast restaurent close by. Everything inside was dam, humide even the bed sheets.We stayed 2 nights and the towels were not changed and We went to the office at 0630 AM for coffee it was closed. Then we went back at 07:30 no orange juice and coffee was so weak ,In front of our window there was a lot of water from the AC and papers on the ground. I am sure I will not return there, An my families were very disappointed and I was ashamed because I selected this property.
