Our experience at Hotel Ego in Viveiro was fantastic from start to finish. We originally booked just one night, but ended up staying for three — that says it all! The biggest (and most delightful) surprise was the room — it had a beautiful terrace with a stunning sea view, which we hadn’t expected at all. Waking up to that view every morning was absolutely unforgettable. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time. The hotel has a calm and welcoming vibe, and the location is perfect for exploring the area or just soaking in the beauty of the coast. The staff were friendly and professional, and everything ran smoothly during our stay. We truly enjoyed every moment and would return without hesitation. Highly recommended!

The restaurant. Overpriced and very plain

An excellent, modern hotel in a wonderful position. Nice bedrooms and all the facilities you could want for a good value for money stay. This was our second visit and we would go again. Lots to see and do around Viviero. The restaurant opened next door by the hotel owner. We found it lacking in atmosphere, the food was nothing to write home about, and it was over priced.

Fantastic view, large room, very helpful staff. There is a pool in the hotel which was not in use. That was a bit of a shame.

Location and views are outstanding. Nice hospitality. Gave us towels for the beach nearby . Bed linen substandard for a 4* hotel. Too bad.

Yes the view is beautiful even in the summer fog. Modern building and plumbing/mechanicals. Single elevator worked well but still required 3 steps at top floor which was a quirk in the design. Not handicap, elderly or heavy suitcase friendly. Breakfast was very good in their large dining room dominated by a curved full height window looking over the beach and rocky point jutting into the ocean and sheltering sailboats. Variety and quantity of cereals, juices, breads, pastries, meats and cheese was abundant and interesting. Eggs made to order were available. Staff poured coffee and espresso drinks. Breakfast staff was very friendly and attentive and during busy times I noticed the front desk staff in the dining room helping out. Bravo! Bathroom was big and modern but drain plugs for bathtub and sink did not seal completely which was obnoxious. WiFi signal was strong throughout the property. Electrical outlets were more abundant than most EU hotels but a few more would have been helpful. So glad I now travel with a three plug EU extension cord. Room lighting was adequate to allow reading a book at night but another bright standing torchere would have been helpful. Room was solid and quiet with no sound intrusion from outside. Great sleeping. AC worked but wasn’t strong so get an extra room pass card to enable the room’s power system when you are away. Patio was nice, private with table 2 chairs and one chaise. Too bad that electrical cable drops off the utility pole across the room’s ocean view perspective. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk along the road. No sidewalks. Ok for adults but not with small children. Parking at the beach fills up quickly in Summer. Back itself was long and wide and sandy well into the water which drops off slowly. 4 feet deep 30 yards from the shoreline. Water late July was refreshing; warm but not hot. Little or no surf. Great for distance swimming and for small children. See above
