We stayed at the hotel for the first time and our stay was outstanding. You could text the front desk for help and they responded back fast. The tram helps instead of walking. The free shuttle to the nearby shopping centers was very useful. The dolphin show was amazing. The buffet breakfast was great. I highly recommend this place. I would stay there again

They need more trams to get people from point A to point B, you spend a lot of time walking the grounds just trying for to get to the pool area, or the lobby.

We stayed in a suite in the palace tower. There was unsupervised construction happening on our floor for the last 3 days. It was load and completely unsafe. We were traveling with our kids and they left out chain saws, nails everywhere, hammers and tools with no workers actually there. There was no warning signs, the front office didn’t let us know there would be construction, and when I told the front office manager he had no clue about it. Additionally, the put us in the wrong room initially and argued with me until I showed them the confirmation. Our shower clogged and wouldn’t drain, when I called 4+ times they would come and lightly snake it but never fixed same issue everyday. This property is huge and is seriously going downhill. We stayed here last year and were excited to go back but it is not maintained and way understaffed. I would not reccomend staying here but only getting a day pass to go to the lagoon. Also, all coffee shops and stores close at 4, really inconvenient to guests.

We had an incredible time

The brackish lagoon has amazing snorkeling and an awesome waterfall. We saw turtles, a ray, eels, and all the other various reef fish. The main pool is huge. We also enjoyed the food from the lagoon in grill. Nui Italian has great thin crust pizza and salads. Every morning I walked over to Waikoloa Coffee Company and got coffees and tasty breakfast items such as açaí bowls, guava danish, bean and cheese burrito and bagels with cream cheese.

The hotel rooms are a long ways from any food options and lagoon. The resort was not designed very well to make the travel from front lobby to room convenient.

Bonito paisaje, buenas habitaciones.

We stayed at the Hilton August 11 - August 16, 2026. Our room was a beautiful ocean view room with a spectacular view. The only problem, the AC never worked properly. And this is during a hot and humid Hawaiian summer with weather reaching upwards of 92 degrees. The first night we made a complaint and the hotel failed to have maintenance check the AC unit. By night 2 and night 3, a technician came and tried to fix it. But ultimately it didn’t work. Night 4, in the evening the hotel offered to switch rooms but we were already settled in late at night. The hotel brought a $20 fan for us to use. Night 5 (last night) same issue, no working AC. It became apparent that the hotel knew the AC unit didn’t work and still rented out the room. Staff was kind BUT they didn’t offer any sufficient compensation for a room costing over $500 a night without a functioning AC unit — a necessity in the summer.

Big hotel with many pools for the kids and the dolphins are incredible but the tram to go to them takes a lot of time and it didn't work to go to the other side of the hotel. Prepare to walk a lot from side to side. Food is too expensive so I see a lot of us go to the Queens marketplace to buy food or beverages. Which you have to drive for 7 minutes. But its worth because its a lot cheaper. Overall its was good to experience once.

I so wanted to love this hotel property. And it did have some wonderful things-the swimming lagoon, the luau, the grounds. But, only one tram was running and the gondolas havent been running for a long time. It was a hike from our room to the lobby and then even further to the parking. The tram wasn't running when we went to leave and we got complete attitude from the shuttle driver about not taking our luggage. While the lagoon was wonderful, there isn't any shade available unless you pay for a cabana. The staff were all helpful except the shuttle driver.

Exceptional

I loved most things, the lagoon was a great idea since the beach was very rocky and not accessible for swimming

I toured the resort some years back and suffice to say I was thoroughly impressed as a guest.

The property used to be so stunning and beautiful and had many unique aspects to it. They removed the waterfall in the Kona pool and now there is no shaded and the element that made it so unique and beautiful is now gone. Now, the one pillar that is still left is used all day for kids to fight on. There was no shade anywhere all the umbrellas have been removed and if you want any type of shade, you have to pay for it by renting a cabana. The little store underneath the grotto that used to be open and have amazing Floaties and rentals and fill up all the kids toys is now closed and boarded up. The boat system that used to pick you up at the front lobby and be able to take you back to your room is now closed. The tram car was closed to the Makai building. There were just so many elements that used to make the property beautiful, and unique that don’t exist today.

Nice property, but very run down. Rooms are old, smelly and dirty. Rooms get cleaned every other day, but it’s more like a quick refresh. Hotel doesn’t offer many dining options and food is subpar. Everywhere closes early, pool is always out of towels. They don’t offer any complimentary water for the guests, not even at the pool. Tram only works on 1 side of the property. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A few pieces that can be better. The AC in the room was not effective and several families had to ask the hotel staff for fans. The house keeping of the rooms were not clean always and you had to ask for decent cleaning of the rooms. The tram was functional only on part of the property and the boat canal was not working. Finally the food at KPC was super disappointing. Highly recommend skipping KPC in favor of better tasting and less expensive options elsewhere.
