Village Hotel Birmingham Walsall

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Food was yummy and my daughter loved the buffet every morning. Swimming pool was fun for all. They carried out a fire drill without mentioning it which panicked my daughter.

Every member of staff I approached were helpful and informative. Room service was amazing, very quick and the food was pretty good for the cost. Extremely noisy room located right by a staff staircase but seemed to be used by guests at some points too. Doors slam extremely loud.

Hotel overall nice Shower blocked. Family member complained of very smelly rooms. Broken lift.

Clean, functional and friendly atmosphere. Just suggestions to add a herbal tea or two and hot choc to drinks near the kettle. And consider better lighting options for women doing their make up. Otherwise I can't think of any more suggestions.

Good Wi-Fi, bar area was cool and pleasant, and hotel was clean. Good gym. Unfortunately, some of the bar staff were inattentive and didn't keep track of who was next themselves - instead asking customers. It felt like a challenge to get served in order without annoying other customers They also didn't acknowledge customers at the bar, or there were lots of staff milling about but no one serving or recognising that there were people waiting and stopping what they might have been doing to help. My room was also excessively hot, and this was when it wasn't particularly hot outside. The portable room fan did not help that much because the windows could not be opened fully to let hot air out and cold air in - only about 2" each. It was stifling. Even after leaving the window 'open', blind half down, and the fan on all day it was still no cooler in there. I was on the 3rd floor and as you walked up the stairs from the ground floor you could feel the air getting hotter and hotter. The design (or use) of the hotel ventilation is totally ineffective.

The location was good, staff very helpful. Gym and sauna great. Lift not working, so had to climb 3 floors of stairs. Ac not working so rooms very hot especially at night struggled to sleep.

Staff were friendly check in was easy. Room was as expected, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean.

My room was on 3rd floor and lift was not working At least 4star should be air conditioned or least 2 fans a room because temperature was 38 degree and windows locked no air from windows

Its tired and overpriced, colleagues of mine avoid it On this occasion the lift was out of service and so lugged everything up to third floor No air con , just a fan in the room, you would expect ac for the price they charge Dinner is ok but just ok its like having your dinner in a sports bar I stay there for the gym which is quite good but it was so hot i could not sleep so did not use gym in the morning the place feels a bit worn out

Parking was available on site. We had to leave early 7am next morning. We asked if there if we could have breakfast or something before we left, we were told that staff and breakfast weren't available before 8am. I was disappointed because we had booked and paid for breakfast. Furthermore, the lift wasn't working and I had to walk up 3 flights to get to my room. I was told that the lift has been out of order for the last 12 days.
