The Baron Hotel

They steal from you while your out of your room they harass you to death and they force you to leave and hope you don’t get your refund this place is a scam

We were very disappointed .

“The Baron Hotel had no hot water during our stay, which was extremely disappointing and unacceptable, especially considering the cost of the room. Not being able to take a proper hot shower made the stay very uncomfortable. I expected much better from the hotel and would appreciate an explanation and appropriate compensation.”

The hotel is located just blocks from Dupont Circle in a quiet area of the city. The bed was very comfy and I slept great. The room was very clean and everything electronic worked. Grest stay overall.

This os a very old hotel with a very old elevator. The room was very big for city standards. The bathroom was even bigger and updated. I was pleasantly surprised and would stay here again.

The room (which is very old with old furniture, etc.) should have more amenities and be better maintained for the price of the room.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Baron. It is very close to the METRO station, shops and plenty of restaurants/bars are within a 5 minute walk. To be honest, this place took me back to my visits to London. It is an historic hotel with all the amenities (albeit basic) that you need. I even loved the tiny, old elevator that you had to manually open the doors.

The property is very old and not well maintained.

Had a great stay. Room was small but clean, seemed recently renovated. Nice bathroom, nice "comfy" bed, good cable channels. Very nice, quiet and safe neighborhood. Metro nearby. Helpful staff, especially Sunny, very nice girl with a "bubbly" personality. No major complaints. Only stayed 5 nights out of 7 on my reservation due to an emergency back home. Would hope that Expedia would give me a credit for those 2 nights I had to cancel (very much doubt it).

My room was clean, but antiquated and from another time period - small. The Staff was excellent, especially Sunny at the front desk and Samir the barkeep. The AC was sufficient and I had no complaints for a summer nite. There is no parking in site, but that was expected. Overall, i had a good stay and although the property is dated- it is well maintained and clean- and the wings and drinks were good.

The Baron Hotel is overpriced and poorly located. The entrance is confusing, blending right into the bar and comedy show venue. Management provides zero orientation; they never bothered to explain where to get a simple coffee or find nearby shops. To make matters worse, the property has a very old elevator with an outdated inspection certificate from May 2025 (despite it being August 2026). The elevator doors are extremely uncomfortable to operate manually, and the staff should really be there to help guests open and close them. Overall, a very disappointing experience with low value for the high price.

Too old the building

There's a lot of history in that building but the staff was excellent. Also, it has a bar/restaurant and a spot for comedy shows. One stop location for sleep and fun. 7 minutes away from the Dupont Metro.

I stayed on a Tuesday night. It was clean, quiet and worked great for me. The room AC worked great. The linens were clean. The floor was clean. The staff was friendly enough. The price point met my needs. I'd 100% stay again.
