Hampton Inn Minneapolis/St. Paul-Woodbury

Nice spacious room with good work space. Pool and fitness areas a plus! Breakfast also a plus! Great location

While the hotel was a reasonable price, it appeared a bit outdated. The room was clean but the window was open when we got there and part of the slide broke when I closed it. The carpet had a funny texture, as if it was damp. Paint on ceiling in bathroom peeling with water stains on the walls.

The staff made it right by offering a different accommodation but I'm still working out the deposit situation with management (charged double deposit).

The hotel was older, but it needed updating. I booked 3 rooms for our family and weren't all able to stay near each other. One room was on a different floor. The bathtub in all the rooms dipped so it was uncomfortable to stand and shower. The dipped held a decent amount of water and not all the water drained. One of the rooms had a lingering cigarette smell. We stayed for 3 nights and kind of dreaded coming back. I probably would not book again, unless the hotel gets a new remodel.

Hallways were well lit.The bathroom was clean...always a good thing. My room looked as expected and was well appointed. The only negative was that it had a funky smell that was not fresh. I couldn't get outside air through the AC unit. I noticed some bubbling wallpaper on a ceiling divider/beam and on the inside of the bathroom door, which looked a bit worn. I don't like wallpapers or thick glossy paints on walls because it traps moisture and promotes mold. Much better for hotels to use eggshell paint because it breathes, preventing mold growth. Wall outlets did not want to hold the plugs of my cell charger or shaver charger well. This seems to be a common issue, perhaps due to frequent outlet use. Overall, a nice place, but wish the room had smelled better.

The girls working the desk were very nice and helpful, but the gym is really limited (even for a hotel gym) and our carpet felt disgustingly sticky.

Clean and easy to get to A little dated, small rooms, no hot tub

I liked that the pool was on the same floor as my room since my 3 year was excited about swimming. This was his first time at a hotel so he was super excited about everything. We liked the location as it wasn't far from our home. We thought this would be a good spot for a little staycation in MN The rooms are extremely close together. I was with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The people in the next room kept complaining to the front desk about the television as well as my 3 year old making noise. The staff came knocking on my door at 1am telling me I needed to turn my television off and do something about the 3 year old because it was now quiet time on a Saturday night. It got to the point that because they kept calling the room then knocking on the door that the 1 year old woke up. The male that was complaining to the front desk started an argument with my adult daughter as his wife just stood there while we were attempting to leave. The man at the front desk refused to check us out saying he couldn't do that since my reservation was until 11am even though I left at 1:30am. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you have small children

The location was great, the room size was also decent. The front desk staff was very helpful and resolved our issue with missing towels immediately. The rooms are very dated and it shows especially on the carpets. The breakfast was very bad, I wouldn't even call it food, all just prepacked high fructose corn syrup meals, and all yogurts on the shelf were past expiration date.

There were a few minor repairs needed in the room, like torn Formica on the night tables. My key card malfunctioned several times but the staff quickly fixed that. I wish there had been a few hooks in the bathroom. And an alarm clock and a TV guide.
